Pakistan to get F-22 P frigate from China in 2009: Memon

ISLAMABAD: Nisar A Memon, the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence, on Thursday said Pakistan would get an F-22 P frigate from China in 2009. …

Senator Dilawar Abbas, a committee member, said, “We have assured Chinese think tanks that we would not sell JF-17 aircraft to India.” He said Chinese think tanks wanted only Pakistan and China to manufacture JF-17 aircraft.

The committee members also visited JF-17 Thunder aircraft manufacturing facilities at Chengdu, and Hudong shipyard in Shanghai. They also held a round-table discussion with scholars of the Institute of Strategic, National Defence University, Beijing. …

Hindustan must have approached Pakistan secretly regarding the acquisition of the JF-17 Thunder aircraft inorder for the Chinese to be so concerned.

I don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors but should Pakistan sell the JF-17 Thunder aircraft to Hindustan?

yaar PD…even in my wildest dreams i had never thought that india will consider buying it from you. Kudos to that senator dilawar abbas to even think about it and tell that to china. Even the chinese would laughed their a$$ off when they heard that from him:omg:

I doubt it, considering how often Indian planes go down… They would probably perfer cheap Russian made planes for crashing purposes. :hehe:

Sorry if I am ill-informed but wasn't there some problem with the Russians about the engine for this fighter?

But there must be some nerve on the Indian side if they approached to buy !

^ Hindustan did try to block the JF-17 Thunder engines's deal with Russia. But they eventually signed it with the Chinese with an option to buy more if needed.

On top of that if Pakistan thought they wouldn't be getting the engines, Pakistan wouldn't have had gone ahead with it. Also, I don't think $700 billion Russian economy can afford to upset a $3 trillion Chinese economy.

Not really!

Acquiring even 1 of your enemy's aircrafts can alter the whole scenario. If you have one, you will know its weakpoints, source codes, jamming techniques, etc., which would cause Pakistan to probably give up on the project.
