India asked to aid insurgency in Balochistan

WASHINGTON: Sumit Ganguly, an Indian-American academic, has advised New Delhi to “raise the costs to Pakistanis” by amplifying the difficulties Pakistan is facing in Balochistan “by providing the Baloch nationalists weaponry, training, greater lethal capabilities” as well as to “encourage the secessionist movement in Sindh.”…
He told India Abroad’s Aziz Haniffa in an interview published this month, “Those are the only options available. Those are not particularly attractive, clean options, but they are the sort of options states have to consider when they are being consistently bled.” The goal, he argued, was to inflict pain on Pakistan and remind its military that India is not bereft of options. …
