We Indian's are trying to be a good secular country, despite the actions of a few fanatics.
The whole world acknowledges this, yet Pakistani's cannot accept this. why?
Is it a sense of shame, where in your own country you treat the minority religions as second class citizens; or is there envy - on India's religious mix.
really these pissing contests are getting so old. they've got problems. we've got problems. let us worry about our problems. and I'm sure the Indians will worry about their problems.
hahah!! jhooom, actually bharat is a sanskrit word. Bha means light and knowlegde and rat(a) means devoted. It does not symbolize any religion.
Hindustan. stan is actually a persian word meaning land, and Hindustan comes from the river Indus.
Get your facts straight before getting so emotional jhooom .
Waisey yeah, India is not as secular as it claims. But aap ko itna ghussa kyun aa raha hai aaj. So many anti Indian threads. Go watch a nice drama or something instead of worrying about issues that can never be resolved.
no matter what the origin. Hinduism is a religion.
Persians used to call people east of Indus as hindus, that is true.
But now hindustan doesnt mean land of Indus, Indus is in Pakistan.
It now means land of Hindus, and now Hindus doesnt mean people who live close to Indus, it means people of the hindu religion.
so infact Niksik you need to get your facts straight and dont be soo literal just to make an argument which doesnt make any sense.
and about bharat:
In the words of Shri Srinivasan Kalyanaraman, For those who think that the nation of Bharat is a British creation, they should be reminded about Rigveda verse by Vis’vamitra RV 3.53.12: vis’va_mitrasya raks.ati brahmedam bharatam janam, (this mantra of Vis’vamitra will protect the nation of the people of Bharatam). In Tamil bharatam (written pa_ratam) refers to the Hindu ra_s.t.ra. ”
bharat is derived from the ancient indian king known as bharat its a sanskrit world-india is secular to an extent but no country in the world is fully secular-hope we keep religion aside and talk abot humanity-

ok lets talk about humanity, why are you killing Kashmirs ?
Give them freedom.
nobody is killing kashmiris-kashmir is a part of india-we have here for centuries its only u who came to our land from arabs-keep on dreaming about kashmir-india is now one of the world power-but than again indians in general r secular we dont involve religion in general which is common practice in pakistan muslims in india r in evry aspects of life from politics to sports-we dont have blasherme laws in india -but it very much there in pakistan-
yes we r openly lying-hindus and buddhist came from some arab countries to settle in india-we r actually foreigners-thats wat u want to here-wake up we r here since the birth of civilization
Although India is certainly a Hindu majority country, getting all picky about the name is really looking for something to fight about for no reason.
Anyway, Bharat predates the term Hindustan and therefore the use of it seeks to exclude Muslims and Christians etc, right? Well, maybe, maybe not. Semantics, schemantics.

No. Hindustan was a name given by the foreigners, while "Bharat" has its roots in Ancient Indian Civilization. Not everything needs to be seen through the prism of religion. Muslims in Turkey, Persia, Eygypt are proud of their per-Islamic heritage. I don't understand why Muslims of the Indian subcontinent reject theirs' .
Pakistanis act as " khisiyani billi khamba noche". It is a theocratic state. It bothers only about Sunnis. Shias and Ahmedias are massacred intermittantly. Pakhtoons are killed in karachi daily yet people worry abnout India. In India all live peacefully and our constitution guarantees it. Can you sauy same about Pakistan? Moreover being a Muslim I can say that our forefathers( of 99% muslims of this subcontinent) were Hindus. Go into history and find How many hindus did Mir Qasim convert with his sword. The entire area from Sindh to Kashmir was converted similarly. Now we feel proud to abuse our forefathers, their religion and customs.
