No i didnt say they were on verge of taking whole kashmir at that point, but they were certainly on plan to keep the blockade of supply route of Indian forces at Siachen. .
That is not what the leadership in Pakistan claimed at that time ... their claim was that they wanted to "highlight" the Kashmir issue !!!
. I dont think Pakistanis want to conquer India, the only issue we have with India is Kashmir, if that is solved peacefully , i dont think there will be wars or any hatred between two countries. Kargil and Kashmir is still international disputed territory.
The international dispute is over Kashmir, Kargil, Gilgit, Muzaffrabad etc etc..... but that can only be resolved through talks .... so it is in the interest of regional and world peace that Pakistan should stop providing havens for terror groups within its territories and solve this issue by talks .... simple !!!!
