LUCKNOW, India - A Hindu mob attacked a Muslim village in northern India, torching homes and killing three people, after hearing rumors that cows, considered holy by Hindus, were slaughtered for the Islamic Eid Al Fitr celebrations, police said Sunday.
Hindus from neighboring areas attacked Mehndipur village in the northern Uttar Pradesh state on Saturday night and set fire to dozens of houses after being told villagers had killed the cows for a feast to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan on Friday, said S. B. Shirodkar, a local police chief.

Three Muslims died and over 40 houses were torched, Shirodkar said. He said a police investigation revealed no cow had been slaughtered in the village.

Authorities deployed paramilitary forces in and around Mehndipur, located about 35 kilometers (20 miles) east of state capital Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh is India’s most populous state, and about 15 percent of its 180 million people are Muslims.
Muslims form nearly 16 percent of India’s 1 billion people, and simmering tensions with the majority Hindus often spill over into rioting.

Cow slaughter is not uncommon in India. In the south, even hindus eat beef. I eat beef, but I am not a hindu. The point is that beef is freely available in India.
The veracity of the news is to be verified before jumping to conclusions.

The history of Cow in Hinduism we have listened from Muslims many times....I think this thread is not about that.

In Bombay it was a common practice to Halal cow and other animals in front of Hindu house holds during Muslim festivals. Only after the emergence of Shiv Sena they started behaving in better manners.
So, what…may be, not democracy but Shiv Sena suits them?

No Muslim was opening a “cow meat shop” in the vicinity of a hindu temple. The village in the news is a MUSLIM village, and hindu mobs from different villages attacked that village out of RUMORS

First of all, read my comment as a whole.
Second, there never have been any killings of hindus in Pakistan like we hear every one to two months in India, right?
Third, in Pakistan, the Hindus are not treated like outcastes. There is no caste system in Pakistan and Hindus are not treated as “Shudras”
Fourth, In Pakistan, the population of Hindus to Muslims is not proprotionate to India
In Pakistan (May be ~1% Hindus to > 97% Muslims)
In India ( May be > 12 % Muslims to > 80% Hindus)
Yet being such a small population relative to India, Hindus have never been killed like Muslims have been killed in India. How do you complare the two Bhai jaan

yes that is true..but you can say that with the Hindus as well ( those killed in blasts) or with any other community…you ask any Muslim from India and let him speak whther his life has any value or not…or his life is less worth than any other community…
