Quas, I am going to completely ignore your questions. You have done no background reading or read older threads. Besides which you merely ask but seek no answers.
You follow your faith and I will follow mine. NO ONE is badmouthing or even questioning your faith. Do not question my faith in derogatory terms. If you cannot have an open mind to discuss please do not ask.
Evilmastermind while I applaud your reasonable questioning, and patience with what is obviously unfamiliar to you..... we have been over this... why dont Hindu's have a book that lays down absolute rules, who is your god, why so many gods, which is your book, why are you so very opposite of us.,... etc etc etc in many previous threads. When and if I get a chance I will point out these threads to you. Please read them at your leisure. Some of them have been hijacked at intervals by bigots and the discussion has meandered and become hateful, but they make interesting reading.
Often I find I have to reiterate the same thing over and over again, because the questions are asked by different people. So it is back to the fundamentals each time. For me it is tiresome, but I want to provide information if it is asked for in a non mocking and open minded way. Reading the previous threads can help you get a grasp of Hindu belief, philosophy, mythology and culture. I am not out to change anyones belief and no one can change mine, but exchange of knowledge and information can be a beautiful thing. I applaud you in that.
Islam and Hinduism are very different doctrines, philosophies, belief systems and never the twain shall meet unless people are openminded.
You follow your faith and I will follow mine. NO ONE is badmouthing or even questioning your faith. Do not question my faith in derogatory terms. If you cannot have an open mind to discuss please do not ask.
chill out baby! seems you had a bad day... hota hai! Which older threads you mean? When did I question your faith in derogatory terms? I was merely asking the questions which are so commonly asked of Hinduism..
Regarding books: they r same throughout? hold old they r?
God has the role just like in all other religions. everybody prays to god to get something in return. To be even specific, a strong belief in god will give us strength to face bad karmas or bad deeds and also to guide so that we dont do anything which is detrimental to ourselves. Basically he is supervisor of all our karmas or deeds.
Regarding the age of books: there is no unanimous conclusion as far as age of vedas goes. some say it 1500BC, some say 3000BC, 8000BC and even older than that. I think nobody knows correctly. and upanishads (10 of them) , also called vedanta, are supposed to be more or less 2000 years old.
regarding food, hinduism does discourage eating meat. Infact hindu scriptures go on to say, that whatever a man eats, it has it's own effect on human nature or character.
ssingh, the same statement when Dr. Zakir naik commented about carnivorous animals u made a mockery out of it.
I dont wont to deviate the topic let this topic go on.
Anyways I always believe if you are towards the truth, you dont contradict.
Its in your own scriptures now, will you believe or disbelieve.
The revealed scriptures.
God does not expect you to do more. He has only love, there is no hatred and no ego in him for anyone.
Most illogical statement, i am not being personal common narayan, how can God have ego, you write with a cap G thats God, we single God out, he is the creator of this world. God is one. There is no one like him and he is eternal. And there is none comparable to him.
By the way i am just skimming the post, i feel matter of ego erupts when you have someone equivalent to you. You can have your own definition.
Thats ego.
hindu scriptures dont talk about carnivorous or herbivorous animals. Just meat. nothing like what zakir naik says. Ofcourse it made me laugh a bit, but laughed on him not on his faith. I am sorry if you had felt bad even for that. see below if you want
I have read that ssingh, but that made me think. Later I did a small research on this topics.
Like for alcohol, once you get addicted to it there are some body metabolism factors and this factors help in ourselves asking for more of alcohol.
Its the same with tobacco, why do u think this de addiction camps are there.
I have heard rumours about pigs also, but I feel carry on with the topic of Hinduism i dont wont to interfere.
The topic will be deviated because of me, i am learning lots so let this thread be in a harmony.
Hah more of the same crap over and over and over again!!!
"Islam is timeless" when u guys dont have any birth control provisions when we all know what population is the greatest of all problems but here we have Muslims having 5 kids per wife claiming "Allah's gifts to me"
Also Change does not **mean of the **principles, it means change of techniques...
for example, cremation, first was on wood pyres, now electric crematoriums are ok... Kapish, son?
