Re: Hinduism-The Cast System

mm those that keep saying low cast, dalit etc exist only in india, please look at how ingrained the caste system is in pakistani society as well - where lower castes/dalits like chamaar, choora, kanjar are synonymous with abuse, jatts are considered inferior to syeds and rajputs and what not. sindh and punjab are not all that different from the rest of indo-gangetic plains in terms of social values and culture.

as for the original question, the rural areas of backwardly regions of india still have it pretty bad with the caste system, and it is the same deal as institutionalized racism. in more urban or educated parts of the country, no one cares about this stuff anymore. you'll find the full spectrum as you move around india.

Re: Hinduism-The Cast System

Sir that is why Islam call these concepts the concepts of ignorance

Re: Hinduism-The Cast System

No Hindu religious text talks about "caste system". The concept of "caste" system was supposedly brought in by Manu Smriti, however Manu Smriti has been corrupted over the centuries and is nowhere near what the original author had written.

Nevertheless, Manu Smriti is not considered a religious text by Hindus. Its only used by "dalit" leaders to gain sympathy and votes.
