Hinduism 101: A crash course in the ancient faith

Re: Hinduism 101: A crash course in the ancient faith

What is the main source of intolerance in Abrahamic religions, when Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed, says that is there is only one God and I am the way to reach Him, it is when this is taken in the literal sense, it means that followers of this particular path shall reach God, while others are lesser mortals. Shri Krishna also says that in the Gita, but that means we can reach God through the ways suggested by Shri Krishna. If you look at the religious teachings in Gita, Bible, and Quran, they pretty much say the same things about how to live a righteous life and grow spiritually.

So the main tenet of Hinduism is whichever path you take, whatever you call it, as long as you live by the guidelines provided by all the enlightened souls that have passed through Earth, you shall achieve your goal. So a righteous Hindu alongwith a righteous Muslim, a righteous Christian and also a righteous atheist are all on the right path of freedom from bondage. Regarding your question, it is for others to decide how tolerant a religion is, you may claim something how much you may want, but ultimately actions speak louder than words.

It is highly ironic that the concept of religion has been twisted to this level, that it has become a tool of hate and murder instead of a tool of universal understanding and progress.
