Mashallah. The Town Nazim is following the great examples of tolerance and respect for minorities that Karachi City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal and President Musharraf have already demonstrated.
Jamshed Town Nazim Jawed Ahmed directed to repair the damage caused by fire at a Hindu temple in Mehmoodabad. According to a press statement, the temple had caught fire in summer this year and also needed to be renovated, the cost of which will be borne by the town from the development fund. Liaquatabad Town: The town and its staff have been divided into two zones for works relating to cleanliness, sanitation, electricity, water supply and parks. The two zones are Liaquatabad and Nazimabad.
This was decided at a meeting presided over by Town Nazim Osama Qadri at his office here on Saturday. The Town Nazim said that with division of town in two zones, works of garbage dumping, parks, water, roads repairing and streetlights could be carried out easily and peacefully.
Qadri directed Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDO) Land Karman Alvi to remove all encroachments from the limits of town.

^^ fantastic news. We ought to be good caretakers of all community centers (religious places, YMCA, and other). Glad that we have a great example here to follow in other cities as well.

Yes. Unfortunately, Muslims have not been very tolerant of the minorities, yet blame others when they do the same to the Muslims.

errr cuz usually they are not one and the same. a muslim asking for the ability to go pray jummah in US is not the same dude who is opposed to nonmuslims's right to practice their religion freely in saudi arabia :)
