The Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple will re-do the puja of the last five days. Reason: A non-Hindu entered the temple.
Davis, who’s mentally-deranged, was found on the temple premises on Friday evening; he’d been there for five days. He was recognised by a devotee from his native town, Chalakudy. The temple was immediately closed and “punyaham” (purification rite) was performed. Later the temple authorities decided to repeat the pujas of the last five days.
“This is perhaps the first time we are re-doing the pujas of five days,” temple deputy administrator PV Subramaniyan said. In the past it has refused entry to former President Zail Singh and other VVIPs, who weren’t Hindus.
Obviously it is a matter of religious susceptabilities and no one can question this.
I have a special concern for this because Guruvayoor is one of my most favourite destinations for me and many of my family mebers.
It has not even permitted one of the greatest singers in the world K.J Jesudas,who by birth is a christian but a hindu by belief and has sung a great number of devotional songs for Lord Krsishna(the deity of Guruvayyor temple).He carries out is annual tribute to Lord Krishna in a stage outside the temple complex.
Guruvayoor is a sacred and sensitive place for the Hindus not only in India but across the world.Its a routine place of visit for foreign personalities like Anirudha Ratwate of Srilanka and many other people.
Remember how the devotees retaliated when the communists tried to stage their dirty gimmicks infront of the temple back in 80's.All those red comrades 'were beaten up on their asses with metal bars by the devotees who came down heavily on them,without the help of Police perssonels.The interesting thing is ,many of thosered comrades' are now the ardent believers of Guruvayoor emple.
^ females are allowed **and yes **males are allowed with only dhoti and without shirt. U can have shirt in ur hand. Females are not allowed with all modern dresses. Sari is prefered. No chappals inside and no person from other religion is allowed in.
All religions have rules don't they? It's not right to judge another wrong based on our understanding. what happens when they criticise killing animals for food ...it looks very normal for people except vegetarians. each religion is different customs

The same idiots did not allow Indira Gandhi in the Jaggannath Temple, Orisa…reason…she was married to a Parsi.
Recently the Princess of Thailand was also refused entry to this Jagannath temple.
I have no clue about the existence of God….but for one thing I am sure that He cannot be selective.
I am not being selective in who this is going to, or who started this discussion. I am not viewing this as one of those flame bait threads, however, I am simply stating that if the pratice does not hurt anyone, then why should we bother about it, people who follow a certain practice, let hem allow or disallow who they want in their religiousplace of worship, have people dress in a certain way or maintain and furnish the place in a certain way. what is it to anyone else. I am not bothered.
you are right - God not selective because he made everybody.
but people are selective, right. you ask about Indira Gandhi and temple. Let me ask: if you believe in Allah or Zorathustra, then why you want to disturb people in Krsna temple?
also other good reasons I think. for example:
What if you bring something ok fo ryour religion but not ok for other religion - some food items are ok in muslims but other items not ok. Vegetable and fruit ok for Hindu but not meat. So how you control? Put ‘meat detector’ machine in front door?
Parsi temple have fire because they worship Fire. They have fire hundreds and thousands of years old in some temples. So you let everybody in without knowing custom - them what happens if a non-Parsi do something to fire without knowing?
Same way, I went to Vatican church just to see architecture - veru beatiful. But there are places inside that non-catholics not allowed.
So every religion has customs and restriction on people. Why it is wrong?
The females in the modren dress can hide their body fully but not in “sari” where their abdomen, back and arms are almost naked
The Christiams, Jews and Muslims have a completely dirrefernt modest dress code for their worship places. I cannot make sense out of removing the shirt and wearing a dhoti to enter a Mandir.
Moreover, a non-jew can definitly enter a Synagoge, a non-christian in Church and a non-muslim in Mosque. Why a non-Hindu cannot enter a Temple?
U dont have to understand buddy.. this is a constom and that is followed. People in different part of the country follow different customs. This temple is in Kerala. There is another big temple in Kerala and more famous called Shabarimala. Here all kinds of people are allowed to come and do not require to remove shirt or wear exclusively dhoti. It is also compulsory for the first timers to go to the mosque of vavar samy (a muslim) before proceeding to the temple which is in a dense forest and on top of the hill. This is one of the best example of the religious harmony in India. Muslims living in that area provides all kind of help for the devotees.
Then coming to your comment on saris. If you wear sari properly, the abdomen can be covered. That also goes for the back as well. Then only arms remain uncovered. But you should know that this is India.. its not a cold country.
Ironic that I am defending a religion but I will - because each group has a right to believe and do what they believe is right, without harming others.
If they build a temple exclusively for themselves, why you go and disturb them?
Off course…….I have objections. Don’t call it a temple or worship place of God….just say that it is a privileged place for a particular gentry.
Calling someone ‘unclean’ cannot be religious and some Hindu temples do not allow non-Hindus only for a simple reason that they are ‘unclean’ as per Hindu rules.
