can you tell me anout manusmriti , stridharma, and saubhagaya?
Manusmriti is the memoirs of the first man on the planet called Manu. That's where the word 'man' in English or manav in Hindi comes from. And it is said that word script comes from smriti. hence the origin of the word manuscript.
he was the first king of the planet, but at the same time he is criticized for being sexist and racist. he didnt have high opinion about women and people of lower caste.
stri-dharma is i guess is the duty(dharma) of a stri i.e. a women. there is a role defined for every expect of life of a woman. there is a role defined for mother, daughter, sister and wife. so there is a stri dharma and a purush (man) dharma.
subhagya means good luck. bhagya or bhag means fate or luck. subh means good. so it would mean good fate/luck. some time it is also called saubhagya, sau meaning 100 or many, bhagya is bhagya. so many luck or good luck.
i guess you are talking about it in context with manu. he defined stridharma and how she brings saughaya to the family or the man. but you should know that he is looked as hero and vellion at the same time by different people for his deeds. in hindu dharma everything is open to discussion and critcism. even the gods like ram, krishna etc are hated/ criticised by people for their wrong actions and bad people like ravana are admired for their good deeds.

Subhagya is not formed with Subh and Bhagya. its more Su(good)+Bhagya(luck). Subh means auspicious.
Saubhagya is a corruption of the Sanskrit word Subhagya.
Manusmriti contains some of the worst things possible. and the punishments prescribed would put Saudi's punishments to shame.
