Hindu Dharam; an enemy of Humanity.
Lashkar e Tayyeba
Now that I have made a clear distinction between the attitude of the Muslims and the Hindus of the subcontinent it has become apparent that the causes of the anti-Muslim aggression of the Hindus are to be found in the teachings of the Hindu scriptures drafted by Brahmans, which contain commands that call on Hindus to resort to religious coercion and to exterminate all non-Hindus.
Interestingly, in 1985, two Hindus filed a request with the Calcutta High court that all copies of the Holy Qur’an be confiscated because it commands Muslims to perform Jihad against disbelievers. Another proof of this anti-Muslim undercurrent in India is the fact that Hindus put up posters with such threatening slogans written on them as “leave the Qur’an or leave India” or “Muslim should be banished from India or exterminated.”
It is a fact that the believers in the Qur’an which commands them to perform Jihad against the disbelievers have never meant any harm to the Hindus of Pakistan who have been living in peace and tranquility ever since this country came into being. Whereas in India, right after the partition, the Hindus launched a general massacre of the Muslims of India. Consequently, Liaqat Ali had to sign an accord with India so that the safety of the minorities may be guaranteed. But they trampled this agreement underfoot time and time again.
No doubt the Qur’an enjoins us to perform Jihad but only against the oppressor. Today we are engaged in Jihad against Indian army in Kashmir, which is committing atrocities against Kashmiri Muslims. Mujahideen have never caused any harm to the ordinary Hindu populace of Kashmir. The Qur’an teaches us not to take up arms against those who do not mean us any harm. But we will keep waging Jihad in Kashmir to put an end to bloodletting and to uphold the Deen of Allah.
A meeting with a Pundit
During my visit to Thar where Hindus live in substantial numbers I availed myself of the opportunity of visiting a Hindu Pundit. He was a retired professor and conversant with Urdu, Hindi and English. I led off by asking him to elaborate on the concept of God in Hinduism. He said, “in Hinduism we believe that God comes in this world in different forms. Krishna and Ram are the two of the many forms He has assumed in this world.”
Then I asked him about their concept of Heaven and Hell. He told me that they did believe in this notion but it is slightly different from the ones that exist in Islam and Christianity. “It is reincarnation of man,” he said “which becomes Heaven or Hell for him. Therefore, we believe, there does not exist any separate Heaven or Hell apart from this world in which men are born again as a reward or punishment of their deeds in their previous life.”
I asked him if there was any point where man could get rid of this circle of metempsychosis. “Only through Nirvana you can get out of this circle and dissolve your soul into the Supreme Soul,” contended my host. “We the Muslims have belief in the Day of Judgement. Do you have any such rationale in Hinduism?” I asked him. “In absolute terms, we do not believe in the end of this world because those who have not gained Nirvana would be born again and again. So for us the end of world means the dissolution of one’s soul into the Supreme Soul,” replied my host. Commenting on the impact of Islam on Hinduism he said, “as a result of the influence of Islam on Hinduism idol worship has dropped off and the belief in Hinduism has been supplanted by secularism or Islam.”
There in Thar I visited a Mandir (Temple) where the idol of male sex organ was being worshipped. I was really shocked by this ungodly and indecent practice sluttishness and obscenity in a religious practice is the last thing one can imagine. These people forget that it was the evil design of Satan to expose the hidden shame of mankind and put them to shame.
Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them (Adam and Eve) bringing openly before their minds all their shame that was hidden from them. (Al-Araf-20)
When our first parents, lured by the sweet talk of Satan, ate the fruit of the forbidden tree they found their bodies exposed and now Satan is doing the same with the children of Adam and Eve by luring them into indecency and obscenity. The Holy Qur’an aptly exposes this trap which Satan sets for mankind.
…Do not follow the footsteps of the Evil One For he commands you what is evil and shameful, And that you should say of Allah That of which you have no knowledge.
(Al-Baqrah-168-169)
In Hinduism we find that Satan is spreading evil things under the cloak of religion. People indulge in indecent practices in the name of religion and when they are told to stay away from them they advance the argument that they found their forefathers doing the same.
When they do ought that is shameful,They say: "We found our fathers doing so;"And Allah commanded us thus"Say: “Nay, Allah never commands what is shameful: Do you say of Allah what you know not?” (Al-Araf-28)
Almighty Allah has admonished in these words those who spread indecency.
Those who love (to see) Scandal published broadcast among the believers, will have a grievous penalty in this life and in the hereafter. (An-Noor-19)
After this discourse with Pundit I set off for “Sadhro,” the southern most point of Thar where Hindus dispose the ashes of cremated bodies. The building, which housed the famous sacred “pond of Ganges”, presented a deserted and weird look. An old, short, filthy Hindu greeted us. His name was Bawa Satha and he was the custodian of that pond. It was fairly difficult to say which thing of all we saw there was more filthy and repulsive than the others. The man, his dog, the pond and the building, everything filled us with the same measure of repulsion. We were told another interesting thing. Hindu men and women take a bath in the muddy water of that pond to purge themselves of their sins. I wondered how that stagnant water could cleanse them spiritually whereas it can not even cleanse them physically. In Hinduism, worship of natural phenomena is an essential part of religious practices. Therefore Indian rivers such as the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Sarasvati are all worshipped. The confluence point of these three rivers near the city of Jounpur is regarded with special religious reverence. It is due to this religious importance of rivers that Hindus make it a point to make their crematoriums beside rivers. And where rivers are not available they do with ponds.
The practice of disposing of the ashes has made all Indian rivers extremely polluted. The sewage of Benaras city, through which the holy Ganges flows, is also disposed of in it. And Hindus still continue to believe that a dip in this river guarantees spiritual purification and salvation. Just when Indian government and other organisations are expressing increasing concern over the pollution of their holy rivers, parcels of ashes keep coming in from abroad. They believe, with their ashes scattered over the Ganges, they will attain salvation.
Popularity of Hindu doctrines in the West
Intricate but apparently fascinating Hindu doctrines and beliefs are fast catching on in the West. Tormented by ultra-materialism inherent in their life styles, they are imperceptibly being driven towards Hindu beliefs such as metempsychosis and asceticism. Books on Hindu philosophy of asceticism are attracting a large number of readers. One such book has sold over one million copies in the West. What attracts them towards Hinduism is the false promise of spiritual peace and purification of soul, things, which their materialism is unable to offer.
Consequently, thousands of spiritual tourists visit India to attain Nirvana. This trend offers great opportunity to Hindu Pundits and Yogis for extorting money from their over-impressed European disciples. That is why spiritualism in Benaras and elsewhere is a lucrative business. Pundits charge from 15 to 500 dollars for performing the last rites of foreigners (Hindus and others as well) who believe with there ashes scattered over the waters of the Ganges there soul will have all its sins cast off.
Crematorium
As I have already mentioned crematoriums are always made near the rivers. Tales of disgusting and repulsive rites and practices are associated with the crematoriums situated at the banks of the Ganges.
Syed Tanzim Hussain presents a moving picture of all these practices in his book “Hindu culture.” Aghori Sadhus who live in crematoriums defy all bounds of decency and sanity. There is hardly any human element to be found in the life style of these Sadhus who remain in the altogether.
Kumbh fair
Every twelve years Hindus celebrate Kumbh fair at the confluence of the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Sarasvati near Allahabad city. Sadhus and Pundits from all over India participate in large number in this largest religious gathering of Hindus.
Prof. Aslam writes about this fair in his book “Safar Nama-e-Hind”: In the previous fair, more than ten million devotees participated. Rituals of the acceptance of new Sadhus into the order of Dagimber Sadhus were performed there. Then those naked Sadhus performed the ritual of bath at Sangam (confluence of rivers) and then the ordinary devotees followed them. People regard the naked Dagimber Sadhus with great reverence. From all these practices we also deduce that nudity and indecency are deeply rooted in the religious culture of Hindus. Dagimber Sadhus worship the sex organ of Vishnu god. Similar other indecent forms of worship are so common in Hindus that religion is synonymous with indecency in Hinduism.
This time Kumbh fair was held in Hardwar City. It is situated at the foothills of Himalayas. This was the last fair of this millennium. More than ten million Hindus participated in this three-day gathering. What’s more, 40 thousand naked sadhus performed the ritual of “Ashnan” (bath) in the Ganges.
Talking about indecency in Hinduism, let me relate a tale from Bhagvad Gita, which will strengthen my point. There is a tale about Krishna, the Hindu god, in Gita. He used to hide the clothes of bathing women and watch them come out of water naked. The paintings of this ungodly tale are considered very sacred. Hindus buy these pictures to express their devotion to Krishna who took pleasure in disgracing women.
The conclusion that flows from this tale is that nudity and indecency is the very ingredient of Hindu religion. The gods and followers of this religion are all tarred with the same brush.
Burial or cremation: What is the natural way?
Cremation, in all its aspects, looks a very brutal way of performing the last rites of our near and dear ones. How can one endure the agony of setting on fire the body of one’s close relatives? There is certainly an element of brutality about cremation. Islam, on the other hand, has given us a very natural way, the burial.
On the death of someone, the Muslims are told to say:
To Allah we belong and to Him we return. (Al-Baqarah-156)
The deceased is bathed and put in a white shroud, then in a funeral procession; he is taken to an open place or cemetery where his funeral prayer is performed. And finally he is laid to rest in a grave. People pray for his forgiveness afterwards. Islam also teaches us to mourn over the death in a sedate manner; wailing or crying over the death of a person is not permissible. So this is surely a sedate and humane way of performing the funerals.
During my excursion to Thar I had a guide who happened to be a “Shudra” (a low caste Hindu). His name was Ponjo. That lean, down-at-heel man had all the characteristics of the caste he belonged to and was virtually crushing under the load of cruel caste inequalities firmly anchored in Hinduism.
I asked him what he wanted to become in has rebirth. “Mother cow,” replied he, a little hesitantly. On this, I said, “why not embrace Islam and you will be a prince in the hereafter.”
He started thinking without giving any response and so did I. I knew he and his kinsmen have been suffering excruciating repression at the hands of self-important Brahman. The humiliating treatment to which the Shudras have been subjected throughout the past is against all bounds of humanity and civilisation.
That is why I call the Hinduism the enemy of humanity. It compartmentalised humanity into high and low castes. This horrible doctrine gave a group of men in Hindu society the birthright to rule, repress, persecute and maltreat another group of men belonging to the same society for reason which surpasses comprehension.
The credit goes to Islam for declaring that all human beings are equal irrespective of colour and race, and it is Islam that bestowed honour and dignity on humanity.
Verily, We endowed the children of Aadam with dignity. (Al–Isra - 70)
Similarly, Muhammad, Rasulullah (Sallallaho alayhi wa sallam) abolished all prejudices based on colour or race in his address at the farewell pilgrimage. He said: Neither a black is superior to a white nor a white is superior to a black. Similarly, neither Arab is superior to a non-Arab nor a non-Arab is superior to an Arab. Islam makes it clear that the only yardstick of superiority is piety.
Verily, the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is he who is the most righteous of you (Al-Hujurat-13).
Shudras can cast off the humiliation imposed on them by Brahmans by renouncing Hinduism and embracing Islam. This will not only give them freedom from the suppression of Brahmans but will also give them equal status to the rest of the Muslim community. In this way they can get rid of the vicious circle of reincarnation and the stigma of being a Shudra.
Hindus claim that their religion is as old as humanity itself. It is pertinent to ask them how come these four castes came into being into which they have compartmentalised their society? Whereas human race proceeded from one man and one woman. Interestingly enough, these four castes are further divided into sub-castes based on different factors. The doctrine of metempsychosis (reincarnation) throws doubts on this entire system of castes. Who knows what a man was in his previous birth and what he will be in his next one. The doctrine of metempsychosis suggests that men keep changing castes or even species depending upon their deeds. So this doctrine makes the caste only a relative thing. Then why should it be relied upon? The Hinduism offers no answer to this question.
