but is it not a dilemma for Muslims when they ask us if the guy didnt do what Hazrat Ibrahim did (or effectively did, the act was averted by Allah). Whats the Muslim answer for that?

Hazrat Ibrahim was a prophet of Allah swt, he was doing what Allah swt told him to do to test him. There is major difference.

These things where ever they happen are disgusting.
Saying things like - "These hindus..." does not mena anything. When terrorists bomb innocent people, I can easily say "These muslims...".
When someone talks of Hazrat Ibrahim you say he was a prophet and rationalize it.

Only if the prophet said so. Prophet Ibrahim never taught any one to go sacrifice their children. Unless you can prove me wrong.

Prophets are subjected to the hardest of tests. Allah put Prophet Ibrahim to the most difficult test by asking him to sacrifice his son. Prophet Ibrahim complied and having passed the test. When Allah asks to do something you do not turn back and question, which you really can't either, but if you were to then only to your detriment.

In the Quran this whole story is mentioend not to be imitated but to draw certain lessons from it for Prophets and general Mankind alike.

^ alrite I see your point, but in the earlier such occurrence (also in India) the guy who killed his kids for his "god" thought that he was being told in a dream to do so. Now you may know that Prophet Ibrahim was a Prophet and this guy merely delusional, but does he? Furthermore, what Prophets do are considered Sunnah unless explicitly forbidden by them, so your argument isnt exactly correct. You do not show me how this act is part of the actions exclusively reserved for Prophets.

mooli i did mention that the act was averted, but for all Hazrat Ibrahim knew he had sacrificed his child before Allah to satisfy Allah's requirement.

ofcourse both of you should know that Im on your side, I just like knowing how we would respond to that criticism.

These guys are not muslim; hence why would they be following the sunnah of prophet Ibrahim? as for us muslims; we do follow his sunnah except (as u know) we replace the son with sheep. There are some miracles, only exclusive to Prophets (such as miraaj, revelation of the Book, being raised to heaven, splitting the sea), this slaughter was exclusive to Hazrat Ibrahim. These folks didnt claim to be Prophets... did they?

Oh hindus are the nicest and most peaceful people on earth...they didn't kick bhuddist out of India, they don't subjugate/persecute lower castes, they don't consider women property of their men and deservent of death when her husband dies, they don't demolish mosques, they don't massacre minorities, they don't burn Christian missionaries alive, they don't rape nuns, they don't disallow conversions...

Those who have commited these crimes are arrested and behind bars. U should not generalize.
I can generalize many things about muslims and as Cheg said, I could just turn the tables right on him if I use the same language to muslim brothers and some of their atrocities in the world.:D
