Are hindko speaking people Punjabis or Pathans?
Hindko is closely related to Punjabi butttt our physical features are same as Pushtun ppl like fair skin, sometimes green/blue eyes and light hair etc.

Why is fairness index is sooooo important among Pakistanis??
As a whole, All world is beholden to white race ,i m aware of & some amount of preference of fair colour is almost universal but still there is almost heirerchy like distinction made with fairer being higher in status solely on basis of melanin pigment .
I am saying this b/c in other countries darker ppl. are more acceptable than in Pakistan .
Considering Islam as the religion of Pakistan (which is distinctively colour blind)& that Pakistanis are darker & fairer in the same family it is ridiculous & damaging to the country at the sametime.

I prefer Sanwali skin any day... Fair skin if not tanned is ugly...
...But it's true Hindko speakers and Pushtuns tend to have fairer skin than Punjabis (which is not necessarily a good thing)

Hinkians are niether Punjabi nor Pashtun. Back in history, they were mixed but by now are considered a distinct group.
Another thing, on general Hindko speakers look down on Punjabis and consider themselves 'Pathans.' While the Pashto speakers consider them to be Punjabi.
On average, towns of NWFP and Northern Punjab are pretty mixed and besides a few mentioned situations, everyone tends to get along well.

Actually half the hindko speakers are descendants of the pahari ppl who came down to the citites of hazara for work. So there's your answer.

Those Pahari people are classified as Punjabi or Northern Punjabi. Those in Azad Kashmir are considered to be related however Potohari is much more in line with Punjabi than Hindko is.

Thing is there is so much tribal ism in Muslims Pakistan Arabia ,that i think it is one of the drawback of ours just as casteism,dowry, sati ,vegeterianism,idolatory are drawbacks in hinduism.
Do you think a hindu is happy starting conversation with muslims on these sore points?
