Hindi film actress Nadira passes away
Mumbai, Feb 9: Yesteryear actress of Hindi films Nadira died after a prolonged illness at a hospital here early this morning.
She was 74. The actress was admitted to Bhatia Hospital on January 2 after a paralytic stroke. She was also suffering from other complications and had been in coma, doctors said.
A Maharashtrian Jew by religion, Nadira was staying all alone in a flat in south Mumbai.
The funeral will be held this evening, former president of Cine Artistes Association and fellow actor Chandrashekhar said.
Nadira made her foray in the film industry in the 1950s with the film ‘Aan’. She also appeared in ‘Shree 420’, ‘Dil Apna Preet Parayee’ and ‘Julie’.
