Himalayan Pin salt and iodine

Hoping someone more knowledgeable than me, and/or a nutritionist can help me figure out (I am going to ask my doctor about it too) I recently switched to the pink salt, it is supposed to be better for health compared to normal table salt. My only concern is the iodine, probably it is one of the trace minerals in the pink salt, but is it enough for what we daily need?

Please and Thank you

Re: Himalayan Pin salt and iodine

I dont think you should be relying on pink vs regular salt to fill in any nutritional voids. Pink salt is prettier. That's about it.

Re: Himalayan Pin salt and iodine

It is not being used to gap nutritional voids, it is being used as good quality natural source of salt that is not or least processed, and also not for esthetics but nutritional value.

No one else??

Re: Himalayan Pin salt and iodine

My thyroid hormones are normal while my pituitary gland is not functioning properly, so, I have been reading about different kinds of salts. There is a lot of material out there that just confused me. Table salt gets iodine added to it, so we should not have to worry. However, other sources claim it is processed and what not. I have read about pink salt being good as well, but I couldn't find it where I live. So, I picked up sea salt. It is supposedly a lot more gentle on your system, being natural.

^ I feel the same, it's so confusing re thyroid, I have been using the pink salt, can't say it's made any significant difference.
