Hilarious wedding moments

I’ve seen a lot of negative threads in this forum about trashy/worst/rudest moments you’ve seen at weddings.

I thought it would be nice to share some funny/maybe a teeny bit embarassing moments that have happened at weddings that have made you chuckle a bit, or smile fondly in recollection.

I’ll start:

My friend once went to a wedding where the imam, bless him, didn’t exactly have the world’s best grasp of the english language and he was trying to explain the profundity of the verse from the Qur’an that refers to husbands and wives being garments for each other. He ended up saying “husbands and wives were made to lie on top of each other”. LOL. According to my friend, everyone was struggling to keep a straight face for the rest of the ceremony. :cb:

One wedding I went to, the bride and groom had been organised enough to arrange for a clown to keep children entertained and away from the main event. Unfortunately there were so many of them, they clung to his clothes, several were swinging from his legs, and he had to move around very slowly with this group of children swinging off him like monkeys on a tree, bechara, lol.

When I remember some more I’ll post them, but please post funny wedding moments that you have all experienced

LOL at the clown!

My cousin tripped (and ripped) my dress on my brother's wedding, as he turned around to apologise, another woman hit him, made the rip even bigger and then ran away. I spent the rest of the evening looking for safety pins!

Re: Hilarious wedding moments

In one shadi I attended the imam was Black...and he talked ghetto-like ...like he was from the hood.

The dulhan's mom was non-Muslim n at the previous functions we had seen her wearing revealing clothes. So on the shadi...we see dulhan's amma making her grand entrance after the bride.....n we're surprised to see her fully covered. So I nudge my friend n we're both like "Look she got it right this time!!" But soon enough the woman passed our table and we got a good look at her bare back. It was a kaam wala gown...all covered from the front...n all nanga from the back. So then my friend and I were like "Aaw man so close...soo close!!!!!" I wonder if she did it on purpose. It was funny tho.

After my own mehndi night, when there was just family left, everyone sat around and laughed and laughed and told stupid stories. My heavily pregnant maami laughed so much she went into labour and delivered a healthy baby within a few hours! She still says that it was due to the excessive laughter.

I don't always remember my cousin's birthdays, but i always remember this cousin's birthday, she's as old as my marriage.

After a week of events I was afraid of us looking exhausted on the Valima day so I asked my mua to work her magic on my hubby to brighten up his skin and make him look more fresh. Just before our entrance, he came up to the bridal suite and asked me if his make up was still holding as some of it rubbed off when ppl hugged him... not realizing that 3 of my cousins were in the room behind me. He was so embarrassed!!

These are brilliant! Keep 'em coming.

My aunt told me of a wedding she went to with my chacha, and they didn't recognise anyone there, but thought that perhaps their mutual friends had not arrived yet. Anyway, they sat down, the groom came in, but they were on the bride's side so were not surprised when they didn't recognise him and his family. The bride was running late so they decided to serve starters to keep everyone going til dinner was served.

Both were tucking into plates heavily piled with pakore and chaat, etc, with everyone giving them weird looks because no one recognised them. Then the bride made her entrance, they didn't recognise her and realised they were at the wrong wedding!

The wedding they were meant to attend was happening in a separate wedding hall across they road. Blushing, they extricated themselves from the crush of tables and seats and people and made their escape as everyone stared disapprovingly at the two wedding crashers.
