Hijrah for the sake of Allah

And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many [alternative] locations and abundance. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him - his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah . And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

[Qur’aan 4:100]

In this Noble Verse is an exhortation to make Hijrah and to separate from the polytheists. Allah has promised those who make Hijrah that they will find in the Earth many locations which offer them refuge from the polytheists.

Many scholars have understood “abundance” mentioned in this Verse to mean provision. This means that those who make Hijrah will also found provision if they make Hijrah and go elsewhere away from the polytheists.

One making Hijrah should remember that there is provision throughout the Earth and fear of not finding provision should not prevent one from making Hijrah.

Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:

I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.”

[Sahih Al-Bukhaari]
