Re: Hijama/Cupping

Last year when me and my husband went to Hajj it was recommended by a man who stayed in the same hotel in Madina.

He had it done for skin boils which he got freq, I think he had 3 cups in total but ever since MA he's not had one single boil. We were told it was Sunnah and could cure near enuf any problem. I was worried at first as he had one cup right near his heart which looked nasty!

Since my uncles had several sessions for eczema and my sister for acne which is helping them both.

From what I hear you feel weak straight after but are advised to rest for 24 hours and to take it easy.

Re: Hijama/Cupping

My mother in law gets it done whenever she goes to Pakistan - seems to be working out for her Alhumdulillah!

Re: Hijama/Cupping

Ammi used to have the Chinese version done.
It worked to help relieve pain in her back.

Re: Hijama/Cupping

Ive heard of the Chinese one and I think they use the vacuum procedure. Never heard of the one where cuts or slits are made

Re: Hijama/Cupping

Bad blood? I thought the theory of the four humors was discredited centuries ago.

According to a hadeeth narrated by Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If there is any good in your medical treatments, it is in the knife of the cupper, drinking honey, or cauterization with fire, as appropriate to the cause of the illness, but I would not like to be cauterized.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 10/139)
