I am not a hijabi and I can afford a big wedding day but I wont go for it. coz I think its total waste of money. I know it ll come once in my life, so I better spend a lil more on my dress and try making myself look really gorgeous for him.
I can use my saved money for my home ( to have a nice beautifully decorated home is my dream) or prolly save it for a nice honey moon ;) - it would be better i spend that money on me and him and buy some beautiful moments that we will carry in our minds n hearts forever.
As far as poors are concerned then Allah ka Shukar I do not have to wait for my wedding day if i want to help them in anyway. I do that often, whenever I can or see the need.
im a hijabi and i can afford to have an extravagant wedding..but since marriage is a sunnah act..it should be performed like it too.ie..simple and one which causes least problems to arrange it, to gain more blessings of Allah...however..it's too easy to give into the temptation of having a high expense wedding!
id personally want a wedding arranged in such a way that if the prophet SAW were to be alive ,he'd attend it happily :)
it would just depend upon the state of of my imaan..pressure of my family and in laws..at that point in time..:)
hijab ,niqab, abaya whatever is only the outer covering at the end of the day whenever its taken off is a normal average person like you and me doing the same thing wheater in moderation,in full or not all in the end its all up to the person and how much they practice that makes their actions counted.
