Hijabi throws Extravagant Wedding

I ran into this old friend of mine, who recently had a wedding. So my sister and I were discussing the conflict between being a religious hijaabi and throwing an all-star expensive extravagant wedding.

Girlfriend had an all-out 7 day extravaganza, really expensive dress, awesome food selection (makes a chinese buffet look cheap), ridiculously expensive resort area, and gave herself a ridiculously expensive honeymoon to boot with pictures and videos all over facebook.

So, hijabs are done for modesty. How can you be a modest person wearing a hijab and have the most extravagant wedding ever…when you come from a country where people die of hunger every night and get treated like dogs for being poor?

What are your thoughts?

1. For the girl, the scarf may be means of pardah only and nt necessairly a tool for modesty.

2. Nobody is perfect. Maybe taking up the scarf was to the limit she could do for religion or even family.

But the most important thing ;

Unfortunately 90% of people, think they r following religion. but don’t understand the true meaning or purpose of what is expected of them.
