Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

I don’t understand - wouldn’t this issue be non-existant if you have a segregated wedding?

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

^ Not everyone wants a segregated wedding - especially if you have brothers/cousins/uncles that you are close with.
I didn’t mind showing my neck - I wore my Hijab in 3 different styles.. you cancheck them outif you want

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

Hmm still feels kinda contrived though; a bit of a contradiction being made upto the nines but insisting your hair isn’t shown. Hijab is not just a piece of covering on your head.

No offence to anyone that disagrees with me though.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

I won't get into that debate - I see nothing wrong with dressing to the nines whether its on a daily basis or wedding. That's just me though :)

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

You won't look bald. pats missN on the back I had the same fears, but it will all come together in the end. With the outfit, the jewelry, and a smiling face, how can you not look beautiful on your wedding day? The dupatta won't even be an issue. Sure, you may have looked slightly more "beautiful" if you decided to show your hair, but the thawaab you are gaining for covering up is incomparable. Wear the dupatta proudly.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

:( i totally understand what she means i have tried it with normal duppattas and i look weird :p i think its cos i have a small face and i dont want to wear a hijab on my wedding either...but my new babhi is also a hijabi and she wore he duppatta very close to the hairline with a matha patti which looked very nice :D

unfortunetley matha patti is not my thing......ShazasScrapbook i had a look at your pics mash Allah i totally love how you did it :) thank you for the inspiration....

also to those debating, Yes this wouldnt be an issue if it was a segregated wedding But that is not a Norm in pakistani weddings, and to convince 50 million people to do it is impossible....so the best thing is to meet half way, have a normal wedding and just dont compromise on Hijab....and Allah knows best...people tend to just make comments without even realising what it feels like to be in the situation.... batameez loag!!

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

If we as Pakis started having segregated weddings like we are supposed to, God fearing sisters like yourself and also other females guests won't have this problem. But we can't have segregated weddings because we want Indian style weddings.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

The problem is, even if you have a segregated wedding in Pakistan...one by one your father, brother, uncles and then cousins and so on will enter the ladies area and in the end its as good as a non-segregated wedding.
Secondly, the waiters and catering staff etc are male in majority places so segregated or not you get only male staff (though female staff is also available in karachi)
And thirdly, even if you manage to have a strictly segregated wedding by some means, all the cousins and girls will take pictures (plights of the modern media) and eventually everyone ends up seeing you.

So even though I will have a segregated (or call it semi-segregated) wedding inshaAllah, I still want my hair to be covered up and will be wearing full sleeves inshaAllah. And I have to do the same at other weddings as a guest too for the same reasons

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

well in my baradari, in pakistan we get fined if its not a segregated wedding! But than again, we're also very religious shia loog LOL

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

Why not cover your hair with a black jersey material scarf first and then have your duppata pined midway. So the black actually looks like hair and you don't end up looking bald! That's what my Devrani did and it looked really nice.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

The first 2 brides in pics do look bald…but the one in green doesn’t. May be because she’s covering her neck too. So if you cover your neck along with your hairline you wouldn’t look bald.

If I were you I’d go with the ghoongat.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

That's beacuse they haven't done any layering or backcombing. If there is some height on the crown of the head then the bald look goes away. The last one has layered her dupatta twice like a scarf/stoll which is creating height, hence no bald look.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

hmm thats right..i think one needs to make a bun to not look bald.

Re: Hijabi bride - How do i hide the front hair?

hareem01, if i do the ghoongat, then just imagine my pictures :P hahah

and ive such a huge family i cant even have a segrated wedding.
