Hijab with tight clothing

Salaams All

This is a poem I wrote at the request of a sister please feel free to forward and post as widely as possible.
Hijab with tight clothing

When u wear the hijab u feel good
Coz u know its right
But when u put on your tight fitting clothes
The angels take flight
And stop singing your praises

You’re caught up in the middle
Being Muslim and western
Your mind knows that its Allah u should obey and follow
But you’re confused
About which pill to swallow
And u try and follow the middle path
Even though u know their aint no such thing
But u just can’t resist not wearing bling

You’re young and vulnerable
In a society that’s just corruptible
Taking advantage of your naivety
Models with size 6 and 8 clothing
On the billboards and magazines
Brainwashing u

It’s hard to resist
And they persist
Pictures everywhere
Nowhere is safe
So u gotta buy those clothes
And go on a starvation diet to make sure they fit

Doesn’t always go with the hijab
But u try and make it all blend in
Coz you’re a victim of fashion
Which in every nation
Is like a God
Dictating and manipulating
Young minds
Filled with false images of beauty
Trying to conform

I know coz it affects me to

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Male chauvinism n hypocacy at his higest.Dont plz speak for those women whom u males,in the name of religion n other high sounding names, wants to be ur just servants.
Will u allow them to marry and have four husbands at te same time???
Why dont others spaek against such stupidities plz or is it a silent "YES"???

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Brijinder

Looks like u got your answer mate, This board is full of people who live in the west and they still hold onto and agree with Islamic values.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

But how is it that my questions are never ever replied with the mature insights???I pose the questions so that these make the readers to think for themselves.I dont sit on judgements but ask only be honest to themselves and not be hypocrates.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

First of all, you are free to speak up your mind but please, do not insult someone else’s religion. Secondly, the thing about four husbands.. yeah sure… then you go around doing DNA test to find out who the alleged father is :cb:

Hijab is an Islamic Value and I do not appreciate you taking a shot on it. It disgust me to find out that you are only aware of Islam as much as CNN, FOX or NBC would tell you.. Go, do some research and find out the Hijab for males in Islam too.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

mashallah..very well done..

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

^^ our job is to keep ourselves right and the most we can do is advise others.. and after that even if they go out naked with only a hijab on (or whatever) why should we be concerned? now seriously how many guppies here themselves wear hijab in public or their mom/sisters do so?

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

First of all,my intention is NEVER to mosk or insult Islam or for that matter any religion. What I ask always is to evaluate all our beliefs n values in the light of knowledge that we have gathered in all these canturies.Isnt it hypocritical that we want to live in an era long gone by and which is just romanticised. That era had its own compulsions n needs and so had those customs. On the other hand we want to enjoy all the fruits of modernity with a falsi air of superiority which we dont have. That goes not only for muslims but for all religions, including the religion of my birth.Wwe must be honest to see that in all the religions, women have been supressed n male chauvnism comes in many colours.
What i always ask is to develop a critical mind which is brutally honest as well.

I hope to have an open, honest n critical debate. For the information of readers,I have not only studies Islam but also Budhism,Hinduism,Chrisitanity, judaism etc.You can have an honest debate with me on any of those plus on philosophy, psychology n modern sciences.
Regards

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

OK.. let's start with the repeatation of my question.

Since, you have studied Islam, or so you claim, can you please, point out the Hijab of a male in Islam.

Once, you answer that, only then, a fruitful debate will start.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Very Logical AQ:)

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Perhaps u r one of those litralists like many in all the religions. That is not the way to grow,to evolve. If some thing was being practiced at one time,it does not make it right for all the times for us to ape. This goes not only the practices in Islam but in all other religions as well,my freind. As i already pointed out if u r that litralist then u should,th\ruthfully,abnadon all the modern gadget, like computer, fridge, rail, electricity, guns, aeroplane etc etc n live according to the the means available in that romanticised era of ur dreams.Logic?Got it?Reply in the same vein with some logic plz.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

I have asked you a simple question and not only that you dodged it completely but in the process, you again proved your knowledge (none) about Islam.
It is totally according to Quran to make use of modern gadgets LITERALLY. Quran constantly talks about exploring the universe and find benefits for humanity from it.

Now, come again and answer my initial question. You do not want us to get stuck at one place .. not good for healthy discussion.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Guys, I think we have derailed. We cannot allow to have such a serious religious discussion in poetry forum. The discussion might have been allowed had it been stirctly about the piece which attracted all these opinions. I am moving the thread to religious forum. Sorry :(

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Brijinder, may I ask if there is any underlying reason for why you've so passionately studied so many religions and, despite a lack of understanding for them all, are still extremely keen to have dialogues about them? Are you trying to find your own path? Or have you already found it and want everyone to walk with you and be the same as you? This is a sincere question and it's ok if you can't answer it. Unfortunately, there is very little logic in your arguments. What is your objective? What's the point you want to make about Islam? This idea that we are not 'evolved' or that we're obsessed with the 'romantic era' of Islam (when IS that by the way?)- what is this relevant to? :) Please explain.

[Maybe you would like to read 'Javednama' by Iqbal.]

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Nice :)

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

No models these days are a size 6 and 8 :snooty:

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

Hi Brijinder,

Issues like these - Hijab, marrying four wives for Muslim men, etc. - have been used to attack Islamic ideology for a long time. When Muslims are unable to answer these allegations intellectually, they are told that Islam is not compatible with modernism. Thus they need to make a choice, either be draconians and live in the 7th century or ditch these Islamic injunctions and become modern, enlightened.

For myself, like most Muslims, this issue of Hijab (and other topics like these) need to be looked/debated from another angle.

Starting question should be, is there a creator? If there is, did this creator just created us and left us alone to figure out how we live (and destroy) ourselves, or did this creator gave us a system to live by. If we are given a system, who brought it and in what form?

These questions are the corner-stone of any ideological intellectual discussion. If these are answered and accepted without prejudices, egos and open mind, any human with stable mind has the capability to reach the right conclusion.

I am more than willing to discuss the issue of Hijab with you, but first, it is important for us to come to a certain and definite conclusion about the creator's existance and whatever flows from that.

Many thanks and looking forward for your input.

Re: Hijab with tight clothing

I wouldn't mind having a debate with you however are you upto the bar. So far it does not appear so. Nevermind, What is your first topic for debate? Please state the topic, your line of reasoning against it.
