Salaam All,
I have a question regarding the above mentioned.
I know that it is neccessary to cover ones heads.
But it true that in conjunction to covering ones head you have to stop dying or cutting your hair? I always thought that if your husband liked that you cute you hair and liked that you colored it… it was okay in Islam.
Because if your covering it anyway, your family are the only people that see it.
Please refer to the Quaran for any referances.
Thank You
Re: Hijab, HairCutting and Dying
u can cut ur hair...
nothing wrong with that....
women r not allowed to shave thei heads, but they can cut the hair....
soe reports say that aishah (ra) had hair length only to her shoulders....
Re: Hijab, HairCutting and Dying
Muniya, although I don't have any references at hand at the moment, but there is no restriction on cutting hair, so long as I suppose you don't resemble a man or decide to go bald. From the little that I know, there shouldn't be anything wrong with dying your hair to either please yourself or your husband granted that your intention is not to mock the non-Muslims, as there is at least one ahadith that instructs us to look different from non-Muslims.
Perhaps someone else can answer your question better and correct me if I've said anything wrong.
