I like your ideas psyah.
This strategy is great when one is transitioning from non hijabi to hijabi at present work place. But a consultant does not have permanent employer they move from one client to other after few weeks , few months , few years.
What should they do when they go for an interview , should they go in hijab or not ?
How do they involve everybody in the process if they have already made a transition and are going to a new client site ? Start the process all over again ?

I think it needs to be played by ear very carefully … Yes, my suggestion was based on a long-term consultancy placement, but with returning work then it is good to have a quick word with the line manager and inform them of the latest developments. Speak in person with them on the first day back and bring it up before anyone else brings it up. Explain how one has had others help in the process and would like to be open about it.

But new clients will see the khimari person at the interview stage and will not be necessary in that setting.
