I’m planning to have a “high tea” at my place and invite some of my friends over next month.
Now I am not British, nor have any idea what kinds of foods (besides tea and cucumber sandwiches) are served at high tea! Can anyone give me ideas?

Re: High Tea
all the fried stuff and snacks we usually make for 'iftari' in ramazan are there in hi-tea's here we have in different restaurants..
variety of salads(cream salads usually)
samosas
fried chicken dishes(wings, paper chicken, chicken pakora etc)
lasagne
small pizzas
sandwiches
chaats(dahi baray/papri/fruit ones)
chowmen
mixed steamed veggies
chicken shashlik
these are iall i can recall .. hope you get an idea :)
Re: High Tea
selection of sandwiches (don't have to be just cucumber). But they MUST be cut into triangles and not squares - don't ask why, they just do.
Just keep everything in small portions and nothing too heavy and stodgy.
Re: High Tea
You guys - you forgot to mention the absolute "MUST" for HIGH TEA.......
FRESH CREAM CAKES!!!!
Re: High Tea
Also vol-au-vents or mini pastries go well for high-tea events,.,
