i have history of diabetes with my mom havin both sugar and diabetes so thaz another concern of mine. otherwise my baby is fine and healthy no health defects AH. thanks and duahs in advance

For the diabetes: It seems u have developed pregnancy-diabetes, which is quite common among desi (from what I have seen). You need to control you diet, eat healthy (less fatty food) and do excersize (like walking 30 minz pr day). Like your doc suggested, avoid sugary food, and less carbs

Low placenta: What did your doc say about that? I've a friend who had a low placenta and she had bleedings so was told to do bedrest, but I know that some women have low placenta from nature? Is that the case in yours? However, from what I know, pregnant women with low placenta are suppose to take bedrest, but that may only be when they are spotting as well. Not sure.

I think you should ask your doc though. She is the best to advice you :)

Good luck

Re: High sugar and low placenta... pls advice

Btw, there is still a chance that your low placenta moves back to normal, however if it doesnt happen, then yeah most probably you'll need a C-section as your placenta will be blocking for a natural birth. I dont think you need to worry yourself sick though, from what I know, its not a dangerous situation as long as you're not spotting a lot.

Re: High sugar and low placenta... pls advice

I had a low placenta and like you I was really worried b/c I def did not want a c section. My doc told me to just continue my regular activities since it's fairly common and usually the placenta moves up as the uterus grows. My mom, however, told me to lie with my feet elevated as much as possible. Tbh, I really didn't think it would work, but I figured there was no harm in doing it. I did it on and off b/c I was working and didn't have much time, but my doc later told me that my placenta had moved up. Now whether it moved up naturally or b/c of what my mom told me...who knows. My advice is not to stress too much abt it. Inshallah you will be fine, just try to relax and if it will make you feel better you can try elevating you feet on 2 pillows. Low lying placenta's are common so don;t stress.

so many views but only 2 replies!!! thx sweet and lalmirch for ur replies. appreciate them :)
no sweetmoi, i m not spotting AH and not advised to bed rest. i was diagnosed with this in week 22. i will b goin to doc next week so maybe she can advise then.
thanks lal for ur suggestions i will def try to raise my legs whenever i get the chance. it mite help me too.. i m glad it worked for u atleast :)

About diabetes it is common and all you should do is avoid carbs. Your sugar can be in control, just eat healthy foods, avoid rice, bananas, cake, chocolates, yogurts all those foods that are filled with carbs. And walk if you can since u have low placenta but you can still walk slowly for 15 minutes it helps a lot. I had a sugar and I tried my level best to control it with diet.
