Are they comfortable? I saw one today… holy molly, the frigging dwarf was standing on a yard long pole (heel), irony of it was that her heel got stuck in the metal grate on the side walk.

some are. some are not. the sandals have to fit your feet. i have many high heels but comfortable wearing only 3 pairs. rest leave bruises.

The highest I can go without causing myself discomfort would be 3 inches. On some days its 2.5".
Those hideously high ones like 5+ inches usually come with a high sole so the net height of the heel is reduced, but they still don't look even close to being comfortable.

I have a 5' with a high sole and that's the most comfortable pair. with a high sole, it actually makes it comfortable and easy to wear.

Its not the height that makes them look uncomfy but that brick they use for the sole.

well, if your foot is only a size 6, the shoe can't get too high. So mine go as high as 3.5 maybe 4. I have a couple of pairs that are so comfortable, I love them and prefer them over some flats, but most are awful. You really have to shop around for those that fit well. What annoys me is finding a classic shoe by a brand that fits like a glove and then having them discontinue line. And don't get me started on the style of heels..... I prefer spike, but the others have more stability so sometimes it depends on how much running around during the day I do.
I am a tall woman and heels put me into the 5'11" - 6' range, so if in meetings, I also try not to tower over people, easier developing rapport eye to eye.

oh yeah but if it fits your feet and if you can wear for a coupla hours straight without feeling uneasy, that's the best thing.

I'm about 5'10" - 5'11" in heels. They look good, but I am tired of being a giant amongst people. I'm wearing flats now and I'm 5'9" (actually 5'8.5") and still taller than everyone. Heels are great in the winter time and some are amazingly comfortable, but summer is all about flats and relaxing my feet.

im 5’5 but with heels upto 5’9/10 maximum. girls tell me i look taller than my actual height cz of my body and should not wear heels. they dont believe it when i tell them im 5’5. but i dont believe em. i like meself taller :french:

MehnazQ... TNWB - How much you want to bet that guys think it is all just matching color??? I think I spend more time on what shoe I am wearing and the other matching accessories than I actually spend picking out an outfit. Plus factoriing in what I am doing that day and the people I will meet....
5'8" myself... some of the people who work here barely top 5'2".... one of my bosses is 5' even....
I envy the men with 3 basic pairs of shoes and the all around suit.
EDIT: Where's Daisy?? Would have thought she would have chimed in by now considering her love for heels :)

LOL… minah, why envy men for having basic pairs of shoes?
before i used to be very particular about all the matching stuff but now if only my hand bag or a bangle or a hair clip is matching, i am happy. it is difficult to get the matching sandals which are comfortable with everything that you wear

I gave in and bought a 4-5 inch heel. Its a gorgeous shoe and when i lately tried it on, I was like Eekkkkk!! 
I could barely walk straight in it! good thing is its a party shoes and not something i would wear to work so i can deal with it. I am 5’6" btw and people think i am taller than that. So even a little heel make me look wayyyy taller. But i think heels make me look slimmer

Initially I wanted to post no comment however I can’t resist. It must be the wonders of gravity that when you are up high the weight somehow… due the balancing of human body on two tooth picks… shifts and flows proportionately and lodges itself at an angle (usually 60 Degrees) in the ankles, thus giving the impression of “slimmer”.

i am SO glad I dont work anymore. The shoes were a real pain-in-the butt. Literally. I go barefoot now...ALL the time, lol!!If I have shoes on, my boys get all excited and ask "where are we going Mama?"
Heels also always made me feel like a giraffe. I'm like 5ft 6 or 7...add a few inches and I towered over many of my co-workers,,,,very embarrassing. I always wanted to be one of those delicate, petite pretty girls but alas,,,giraffe-hood.
I'll stick with my bare feet and be happy thank u very much!

Mo3 - totally understand since you are trying to be quicker than the average 3 yr old :D
I like flats and when going to pool parties will wear flip-flops or go barefoot when playing volleyball or badmitton.... but for general walking around or work.... I love heels, they make me feel good and well, my husband likes them quite a bit and I like dressing knowing he likes it... helps when you have the legs for them too :)...
