Sweet pip...this usually happens to beginners. High heart rates are reported typically for those that are out of shape. Keep working out... if it doesnt seem to go down within normal range after a few weeks of consistent cardio then see a doctor. Get a stress test taken to see how much stress is being put on your heart.
You can also do more calming forms of exercise that will give you the same benefits without the high heart rate. Yoga, brisk walks, and swimming are examples of such exercises.
Weekly update: I am glad to report that my heart rate is now down to an average of 132-138 bpm this week. No longer showing danger on the cardio machines.
This has shown that even those who look healthy and have no ailments, should still do regular exercise because appearances can be deceiving.
I will keep reporting back here, hopefully with positive results.
I had the same problem....when I was using elliptical for 15 minutes my HR will start spiking to 190/200......and then I will have to slow down to keep it low. Even the machine was telling me to slow down.
With the age and weight range, it should not go over 165?
I was wondering same if it is normal or not???...I would start to feel my heart pounding too hard and when i stop i have to cool down. Once I had my heart rate at 190 and I got off the elliptical and started feeling soo dizzy.

It is normal for beginners (unless you have some underlying health/heart conditions). Once you work up your stamina/endurance you heart rate should be within normal range when working out.
You felt dizzy because you stopped right away. nvr come to a stop when your heart rate is elevated. you should always cool down for approx 10 minz before coming to a complete stop.
Some people even pass out if stop suddenly. Immediate sitting down (and squatting) can reduce risk of passing out completely or getting injured.
right ^
also when trying to stand from a floor position (while doing workouts) sitting on the balls of your feet and slowly standing up (head comes up last) also prevents dizziness.

Yes. Absolutely true.
And the reason for sitting on balls (it made me laugh though) of the feet?
Ans: Sitting like this makes our gastrocnemius (calf )muscles to contract, act like secondary heart and pinch the big veins so blood does not pool down in feet and cause sudden low blood pressure.
