Re: High definition foundation
whats HD foundation Gina~...?
Re: High definition foundation
Like HD tele's but opposite so detail (blemishes) don't show?!! LOL
Re: High definition foundation
what does high definition mean though? is it more opaque?
Re: High definition foundation
Gina I have Makeup forever's high definition foundation. I have used it few times and I think its alright. It gives nice coverage but its very dry and matte for my liking. Some people like Sumorani swears by MUF's high definition foundation. I Guess it could be me as I prefer natural, sheer and luminious coverage over matte. Personally I prefer Lancome's photogenic over this high definition one. Recently I have found another great one which is kinda like Lancome's photogenic, Nars( sheer glow). I love it as it gives a very nice, natural glow to the skin. According to the Nars people this foundation is great in pics too. I am not sure about this claim though as I have not taken any pic after applying this foundation.
However, I could totally see some people liking and loving high definition foundations. I guess I could also use my MUF high definition foundation for evenings and formal functions for heavier coverage but, I do not find it something to be raved about.
Re: High definition foundation
I remember asking about it on here, but the majority of people advised me not to buy it … ![]()
Re: High definition foundation
so high definition foundation just gives a more "matte" finish?
Re: High definition foundation
^ So, is it good or not...? which is the best one at the moment...?
High definition makeup contains light reflectors and other ingredients to give the impression of flawless finish. I good HD foundation is suitable for mature skin as well..
Makeup Forever and Smashbox have great reviews..
Re: High definition foundation
I use makeup forevers HD foundation, its very natural looking, giving good coverage without looking cakey, i think for me, the visible difference is that it doesn't look caked on, whereas mac, estee lauder etc do. maybe that's what the hd fuss is about that it looks good to the naked eye as well as on print.
But i have noticed it blocking pores and gathering in creases( this is despite using a primer and moisteriser) when i use it on friends with dry skin. it looks awful on them.
Re: High definition foundation
I have oily skin, I bought MUFE's HD Foundation 2 months ago and love it, gives great coverage (even my husband commented on it) I use Benefit's Hi-beam over it to give a glow to my face, and that works out great creating a more natural look.
Re: High definition foundation
MUF ... it's fantastic. I only have their sample (they gave me a small amount to test at Sephora and i've been using it for like 4 months already!!) ... so now I will buy it cause I like the coverage. It doesn't look cakey and I photograph well in it. :D
Re: High definition foundation
Oooh MUFE here I come baby! :D

does it photograph well? i'm afraid the light reflectors in it will make my face looks ghost white in pictures
Re: High definition foundation
Marwah, maybe you're scared cuz you're already so fair :p.
On a free day, go and try it at Sephora, put it all over your face, then go out and take pics in all kinds of lights .... you'll see how it looks. I did that before blowing $40 on it, since some ladies here on GS don't seem to like it too much.
Re: High definition foundation
^i'm not white! the picture on my profile is from last halloween lol! i was supposed to look vampire-ish and a little lighter than i actually am. but yeah i think i'll just have to try it on to know for sure.
Re: High definition foundation
^ I've seen your other pic (the Halloween doll look you did) and in that one you are fair too :p. At least fairer than me and I have a Wheatish (but not-saanwla) complexion. So was that makeup too?
Re: High definition foundation
I bought MUFE's HD Foundation and hated it. I returned it a few days later.
It made my skin breakout like crazy...but that may also be because I have super sensitive skin.
