hiding true feelings

when do the heart and the mind become one, in pushing the person to hide her/ his true feelings, when faced with the true feelings of the one infront of yourself?
is it logical after developing a familiarity with another mind?
how and why?
any views, kindly share.

I have always thought that it is when:

You know that your heart feels what you know you it should.

The two knows above are different activities of the mind. The first know is the apparent cognitive that most refer to as 'the conscious mind'. The second know is the 'deep value sets and principles' one holds in English the closest thing to this is the 'belief system', but more accurately it is the 'fitrah' - for an explanation it is our 'design plan or progamming intent', from which we can vary.

We should consciously be in a state to determine that our feelings are in accordance to a criteria that is set in our inner natures.

Should we think ourselves away from our design or feel ourselves away from our design are the important things to avoid.

So the answer is that it really doesn't matter whether the mind is at one with the heart, as long as both of them are at one with the fitrah one should be okay. In addition to this ... Even if only the mind is at one with the fitrah and action is done in accordance to this ignoring what the heart tells us is again a good thing to do, or for that matter if the heart is at one with the fitrah and the mind is not, as long as action is done in accordance with the heart in that matter then that again is okay.

If however, neither the mind nor the heart are pointing towards our intended design then we are lost for there is no way of knowing which way to go. This is why it is constantly important to seek guidance from The One who can turn the hearts and minds towards their intended design.

Re: hiding true feelings

thanks, psyah. this si a really practical perspective on the topic.

whenever heart and mind is not one, tragedy of errors abounds in making and breaking a relationship and killing it repeatedly.

hope and prayer is people will get over this.
