Okay so the OP can correct me if I’m wrong but I think most of you are misundestanding the original post.

I don’t think she means that desi’s aren’t hospitable…actually quite opposite. She is talking about mothers/aunites hiding food from people in their own household, in order to save it for guests. Hence when guests come over all this food pops up that you had no idea exisited in your house.

My mother does that. She doesn’t hide all of the food, but she does set aside certain items for guests and she knows her children very well…if there was no ‘hiding’ there would NEVER be any food in the house when guest came over lol
