Hidden File - Delete fails

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Salam everyone,

Try useing this software called Unlocker for any kind of file that can not be deleted. its a free ware.

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Oh! Sh!t!! It did not work for me. It gives me an error message that cannot delete folders with recursive file naming. What the hell is recursive fill naming? I haven't found anything on google yet.

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

try deleting all the files in your folder and then delete the folder. Recursive is where it deletes the folder and all the files/folders under it.

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Tofibaba: System does not allow me to even open the folder. I have tried everything, I can think off. Deleting from command window, deleting in Safe Mode, deleting from Windows 2000 (i have a dual boot), using DELTREE, using RMDIR, using DEL /s etc. I have full administative rights for the account I use. However, still I logged in as Administrator and tried to take Ownership and tried to delete it; didn’t work.

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

^Did you try a Linux boot CD? or even the Hiren CD?

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

No I haven't tried that. Will Linux be able to read NTFS??

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

I am curious, did Knoppix work for ya?

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

WitchDr... download Whoppix....

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

OK! I got myself a DVD along with a computer magazine. It has Knoppix. I am going to try soon.

Re: Hidden File - Delete fails

Hmmm.. I booted with the Knoppix 3.9 CD successfully. I was able to see the contents inside that folder and Knoppix reported 202.9 MB taken by the folder. Windows XP does not allow me to open that folder and reports it having zero bytes. However, Knoppix did not allow me to delete the folder or any of its contents saying I don't have enough permissions. It did not allow me to change the permission settings as well. Any ideas?
