Hi-Tea Bridal Shower Menu

I am hosting a bridal shower for my cousin right after Ramadaan. I thought a Hi-Tea theme would be nice with all the girls dressed up, but unfortunately I have never been to a hi-tea in Pakistan. We are having it in Toronto, Canada, so we wont be able to actually go to a hi-tea, but will be setting it up at my parents house.

Can anyone tell me a typical menu? Including drinks?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Hi-Tea Bridal Shower Menu

You get a ladder and put tea pot on the top of the ladder. All of the guests try to reach the tea before everyone else

some of them fall down on the floor yelling "hayeeee tea"

and one of them who reaches to the top of the ladder greets the pot saying "hi tea"

An assortment of teas (Earl Grey, breakfast blend, chamomille, mint, jasmine - I'd get a mixed box). Also if you want to desi-fy it, serve kashmiri chai for a change. Provide milk, cream, lemon, honey, sugar (even this can be fancy - brown cane sugar or sugar cubes). As for other drinks, I'd limit it to a nice fruit punch and juices and stay away from carbonated beverages or even coffee.

For the menu, you must have finger sandwiches!!! The classic cucumber sandwich, smoked salmon, a nice chicken sandwich (chicken salad is the easy option - I'd think of changing it up a bit), egg salad, etc.

Assorted cheese tray with an assortment of crackers. I like the tray to have variety of shapes, flavours and colours, so I select crackers based on shapes - rectangle, triangle small round, large round. I also cut my cheese in different shapes, cubes, rectangular slices, square slices. Include one soft cheese (brie is a good one).

Sweet and savoury pastries (sweet - small eclairs, cannolis; savoury - spannikopita, pastry sheets filled with ground beef/chicken, even mini samosas).

And have a full complement of sweet things: petit fours, cookies, scones, little cakes with frosting.

The key is presentation and the food must be in smaller portions (though lots of it).

Serve on fine china if possible and set up the space to have an elegant ambience.

Re: Hi-Tea Bridal Shower Menu

**I did my sister’s bridal shower with a theme of “hi-tea” and all the girls were to wear maxi dresses.

Menu:
Chicken egg rolls
Vegetable lasagna
Mini pizza bites
Turkey paninis
Fruit kababs
Chicken kababs
Berry Tart
Pinwheels
Coconut shrimp
Cheese & crackers tray

We had a chocolate fountain station, which included: Strawberry’s, banana, melon, 5-6 different types of cookies, lemon cake, and cheesecake bites.

The tea station included all different types of teas and coffees.

The next station was the cupcake tree.

The last station was drinks. The main party drink was pink lemonade.

Also to really get that hi-tea feel for the party, we came up with this tablescape. The uneven look of the different platters, with the silk, and fruits to weight the cloth down and serve as decor. (p.s this pictures isn’t from her bridal shower, but from our Iftar party two nights ago).**

Awesome! I love the pic, that is a great idea! We are telling all the girls to wear maxi dresses as well, but also having them wear a fancy hat!
