hi parents ka forum.

Re: hi parents ka forum.

First of all it aint an easy job - doing a 8 to 10 hours shift could leave you knackered at the end of the day ! During my college days , I have worked at a deli bar , where I have to make 100 to 150 cold sandwiches every day and then 100 chicken wraps , burgers , baguette at lunch time but seen my other friends working at Maccas , BK and Supermacs made me realize that I was lucky enough to get a better deal out of it .

But as sahar already said the key is to get yourself going till you get another better opportunity . Anything which helps you making the both ends meet aint a bad thing .

thanks for the replies!

i did mention that she herself imagines this as a temp job whilst she has been actively looking for a better job. her parents just can't compromise with that.

Re: hi parents ka forum.

I know a lot of desi parents are uncomfortable with their kids working in fast food joint and even any restaurant for that matter. My sister wanted to waitress (because it pays well) but Dad was hell bent against it. He was willing to let her work on a on campus job like in a library or computer lab that paid 1/2 of what she would make.

If it's temporary - there is no harm or shame in it. paycheck is a paycheck.

She should tell her mom that it is temporary. Enforce that she is looking elsewhere and for better opportunities.

I don't think parents are going to understand but if she communicates her future plans and intent to work elsewhere they might let it slide for a little while
