White/ivory gowns are quite common but I’m not sure I would say it’s the norm. The green and gold combination (or even green and red) is also quite popular. Also, alot of brides (at least among people in our area) wear two dresses: a brightly coloured dress for the actual Nikah part and change into a more western style white/ivory gown for the rest of wedding.
