I stumbled across GS whilst “Googling” one day…I have been reading for a couple of weeks now, and joined last week.
It seems like the GS forums are geared towards those with Pakistani roots…so can I still join you guys, if I am not of Pakistani origin? You all sound like a great bunch of people…
Let me introduce myself…
I am 27, born in the UK (England), I am married to the most amazing man in the world..well I think so anyway! (My husband is originally from India, and my parental origin is also from India - my mum was born in Calcutta and came to the UK when she was 6/7 years old, my dad was born in India.)We have been married for just over 5 years, as yet we have no children, although I have been pregnant several times, but have miscarried each time. We are making dua that Allah :swt: grants us a child very very soon.
I have a degree in English and Politics with Management studies and work in International HR at the moment. Until the loss of my babies, I had a very rewarding career in retail management, but have taken a step down to rebuild my health and life.
Not sure what else to put in my introduction…but is it OK for me to join you all to share knowledge, have fun and educate each other?
many of my interests are catered for on this site…like Heakth and beauty, fashion - I also design and sew my designs, entertainment, life…well everything on this forum really!!
At the moment, I have a particular interest in all things wedding related, as my brother in law is getting married to my niece next year and I am sort of the wedding planner and organiser!
Anyway…thats all for now…looking forward to contributing to more threads etc.

Please can someone tell me how to delete duplicate threads....had "issues" with my PC and have ended up posting the same introductory message about 5 times!!!!!
I'm not of pakistani origin either but am married to the greatest man who is.
I also had much troubles getting pregnant then had 2 miscarriages. But mashallah I went on to have 3 beauties! May you find success also! And in the meantime enjoy GS!
ack. long story Ms wannabe. I'll try to summarize.... I had hormonal insufficiency (probably due to using depo-provera birth control). So I had to use injectible fertility meds. I also had to use hormonal supplements each time I got pg to prevent miscarriage because I didnt have enough hormones to support a pregnancy. My miscarriages were both due to "bad eggs". But finally, finally I had my first boy and after that, my hormones were all straightened out and I had my next 2 without any hormonal supplements. I went to a "reproductive endocrinologist" for tests and treatments. I also worked for a placental pathologist who specializes in determining causes of miscarriage and so learned much on the subject. If you have any specific questions or concerns please feel free to mail me.
I fell pregnant straight awy first and second time we tried...first miscarriage ended at about 15 weeks and second we were told at first scan at 10 weeks that no heartbeat could be detected.....................in 2003, they said that I ahve PCOS, although no cysts on my ovaries!
Been trying ever since................
Alhamdu lillah, now health is much better.....
I take Metformin daily and also have tried Clomid...................
Insha allah, duas and good deeds will help us..........
Ms wannabe, yes I count my many blessings each day!
I hope that you will be doing the same!!
Perhaps if you have been trying for more than a year, you should seek more aggressive treatment. PCOS also affects your uterus and uterine lining (which needs to be thick enough to support a developing fetus and placenta) so even if there arent any cysts on your ovaries, they may be taking up uterine space and preventing implantation? There are simple scans they can do to determine whether this is the problem. But the general rule is that if you are over 30, try for 6 months and then seek treatment. Under 30, you can let it go for a year. If you are trying a treatment and no success within 6 months, you need more tests to determine why.
I hope you find this helpful and I hope you find success!!
