Hezbollah Leader Vows to Fight on Behalf of Syrian Regime

??? Your previous post was implying this is a sectarian issue from assads side.. And any alliance is due to him being an alawite.. Which is simply not the case. You can accuse him of being a brutal dictator, but not allied to either shia or sunni sects.

No, Assad is not an angel and i have never claimed as such either, but neither are his opposition. Infact combined; they are positively worse. And that is the issue here.

The genuine opposition are powerless; al nusra are the real power on the ground whose agenda funnily enough has nowt to do with democracy. I doubt the syrians were looking for a saudi/taliban type democracy.

Well yes he could have done all these things and he should have. But to be fair to him, he did actually offer to hold dialogue at the time, but the ‘opposition’ rejected it because they wanted him simply gone straightaway, which wasnt gonna happen without a fight.

He still plans to hold it this year i think, whether syrians will accept it or not remains to be seen. But the point is; compared to his opposition now; he is the lesser evil in comparison.

As for condeming undemocratic countries; why stick to the arab world? Lets condemn all of them; starting from the west.
