That is true. Wahhabis fought with Ottomans who were Sunnis. Therefore Wahhabis considered them mushrik and kafir, and saw no difference between Ottomans (sunnis) and non-Muslims like Christians.
When Wahhabis finally managed to occupy Hijaz, Sunni ulema from that area had to flee to Kuwait, and other adjacent areas.
