Good news! You are entitled to a credit of $11.70 for some of your past Kindle book purchases. The credit results from legal settlements reached with publishers Hachette, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, and Penguin in antitrust lawsuits filed by State Attorneys General and Class Plaintiffs about the price of eBooks.

The credit varies from user to user, but I’ve seen people getting as much as $70 in credit! Consumerist has an article here. Also worth noting, the credit expires after a year, so get to usin’ it!

So, how much did you get? How are you gonna use that shiny new credit? Personally, I think it might be time to grab up the first two Stormlight Archive books.

Thanks for posting this thread ethan. I checked my Hotmail account and I found a similar email in my junk box from Apple's iTunes, as I bought few books through ibook. In their case, they have given an iTunes gift card. I don't know the value yet, but will go home and check.

If it wasn't for you, I would have totally missed that settlement email.
