Heroes of Pakistan

Who are the national heroes of Pakistan besides the known protégés of the Farang and closet Qadianis? Beside Ahmed Shah Abdali, Sher Shah Suri, Ghaznavi, Ghori, Khattak, has this region seen a non-Afghan hero or leader?

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

If the rulers of the past are truly the heroes than the definition of a ‘Hero of Pakistan’ is the one who wage wars for political and power gain and plunders afterward. Actually we have/had many since the partition, from the Ayubs, to the Bhuttos to the UlHaqs with gernayls to kernyals and Shriefs, Lagaris to Zardaris, Nooranis to Rahmanis, from Maulanas to Qazis .. you name it, we got it!

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

^^

Strange lot you have for heroes AJ…:expressionless:

Today they are titled as terrorists and either killed or turned in by those who profess to be their own kind…

Today if all the names you mentioned started becoming thu thu by US, many of those who consider these people ‘heroes’ would also thu thu on them…

It is the west today which declares who our heroes are and who are terrorists…So wait for the next list…The people you mention might be on a list on which we must thu thu on them…

P.S. thu thu = spit

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

I dont think you can call them heroes of Pakistan. Pakistan didnt exist when these people were doing whatever it is they were doing. They dint fight for Pakistan.

As for current day Pakistan, I dont think we have any heroes.

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

^ yep and AQ khan is a terrorsit from al-qaeda…

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

Why can’t we look at the bright people like Eidi or Hoodbhoy as heroes? What’s wrong with writers, poets and painters?? Why should there be criteria that unless you were part of a war, made weapons capable of killing a few million or have resorted to any other form of violence, you really can’t be a our hero?

I would take a poet & thinker like Faiz whom ideas I often disagree with over a greedy thief like AQ Khan any day!

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

agreed! Eidhi is my hero. eidhi's wife is my hero, mukhtaran mai is a hero.

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

A policeman who manages to go throughout his career without taking a single bribe is a hero to me.

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

^ of a fictional story....

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

Pakistan has more rights to Pashtun heroes than Afghanistan because there are more Pashtuns in Pakistan than in Afghanistan.

Who do Afghans think they are? Afghan is not synonymous to Pashtun anymore, Afghan means any person from Afghanistan and that’s the reality today.

Today’s Afghanistan is not the same Afghanistan of Ahmad Shah Baba, if someone disagrees they are blind. In today’s Afghanistan Dari (Afghani) is the main language of the state, of prestige and sophistication whilst Pashto is reduced to a language for the riffraff. In today’s Afghanistan Pashtun women are gang raped by filthy bastrds who themselves were born of Mut’ah marriages between their mommas and their Russian/Chingy fathers, Pashtun babies are crushed and Pashtun men are slaughtered. In today’s Afghanistan hookers represent the country in pageants and then claim to be Pakhtanas. Having a president who is only Pashtun by surname doesn’t make any difference when the whole rest of them in power are enemies of Pashtuns.

Pashtuns who have worked hard have excelled in Pakistan, whether it be in the army, in medicine, sports field etc. Pashtuns are not discriminated against by Punjabis or anyone else for their race, some might dislike us but that’s because of our own negative traits, we should sort those out instead of scapegoating other Pakistanis for our problems.

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

Why are there no Punjabi or Sindhi heros?

Do Pakistanis consider rulers of Delhi, Avadh, Bengal, Hyderabad, Bijapur etc. their heros too, or only Afghan rulers ruling out of current day Afghanistan?

Lastly, do the heros have to be muslim?

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

^
For Muslims nationality is supposed to be based on religion not ethnicity, our head of state is supposed to be one even if we are many ethncities with our own countries, our wars are to be fought for our religion not for ethnic pride.. so yes our heroes do have to be Muslim.

Pashtun, Sindhi it doesn't matter to Muslims because our politics are supposed to be one.

We have a Gujarati hero Jinnah, a Kashmiri hero (Allama Iqbal), we have a Mohajir hero (Dr. Adbul Qadeer Khan) but Americas lapdog wont give him the respect he deserves, and many other non-Pashtun heroes.

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

Faruk Khan,

you now talk of religion bigger than ethnicity. yet, only two posts above, your very own post berates Tajiks and Uzbeks (okay now you deleted that part) vis a vis Pashtuns.

it is quite apparent that in reality, ethnicity matters in muslim countries. else there wouldnt be borders between Pakistan to Algeria. there would be no Turks vs. Kurds vs. Persians vs. Arabs vs. Blacks rivalries.

question still remains - why are no prominent Punjabi or Sindhi historical figures associated automatically as Pakistani heros? why only Afghans?

you mention Jinnah's gujarati roots. most pakistanis do not like this mentioned. i have previously had posts mentioning Jinnah as being a gujarati deleted by mods.

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

there are heroes in many fields..art, literature, music, social work, sports..

its interesting to see how the abcde-bashing junta has no answers ;)

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

It is funny that they claim ghaznavi and ghauri who were ethnic turkmen.

See they could swing something if they meant afghan but these same people also say afgha = pashtun hence it ghauri and ghazni were not pashtuns!

Coming to think of it, what do afghans have to gain from them when these rulers only deployed them as mercenaries in their own campaign!

As for this naming business, I do agree Pakistan needs to be more fair and more Pakistan-centric. But let them name these missiles after these invaders, I would rather have sindhi and balochi names for a historic landmark or a university!

Afterall, that is what many local heroes tried to achieve: Justice, rule of law and prosperity for their nations!

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

^ naming missiles after afghan invaders is not a bad idea

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

Read my post!! :cb: :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

so I agreed with you …what is the point of your second post

Re: Heroes of Pakistan

Here Faruk Khan shows his anti-shia sentiments. Where did this Mut’ah topic come out of? Or should I mention the fatwahs of those Wahhabi Talibans to go ahead and rape Hazra women because they were ‘war exploit’?

You want to make it ugly then it will be ugly. Learn to respect others, and get the respect yourself.

By the way, the Northern Alliance of Afghanistan was over-whelmingly sunni in composition. All Tajiks who speak Persian are not shias. So do not make Northern Alliance and Taliban fight synonymous with sunni and shia fight.
