Hero of humanity

Ms Sabiha Sumar. http://www.jazbah.org/sabiha.php

I’m stunned by her art and storytelling. A great woman fighting for a great cause in most inspiring and artistic way.

Silent Waters is the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. It is amazing to see how she pulled it off by tying various subplots into one solid composite story with a backdrop of 1979’s Zia (may he rot in hell for eons to come) regime and made hell of a movie! It’s just perfect. Well made, well told, strongly scripted, realistic, truthful, effective, wihtout over-emotionalization (a big achievement) or overdramatization. Everything, every item, every gesture, every slang, every expression she picturized is real but yet dramatic. Bravo! :k:

Re: Hero of humanity

You seem too excited....I hope you dont' use your DVD for any other purposes.
on a second thought please don't look at dvd..particularly at center..Please.

Re: Hero of humanity

Is it better than Shrek?

Re: Hero of humanity

My hero and heroin of humanity are Roman and Lazy_Daisy. I propose a Guppy marriage between these two souls that are made for each other.

Re: Hero of humanity

and we should invite you and perhaps then we'll get an idea of who you really are Mr Fob

Re: Hero of humanity

^^But why? my oh my

Re: Hero of humanity

What is the storyline? I think I have heard about it.

Re: Hero of humanity

she has a new movie/documentry coming out..I saw Khamosh pani awhile back..it was good, I suppose because of the backdrop it got a lot of attention.

Re: Hero of humanity

It was a good movie.....but I never got to see the ending.

About a woman who's son gets involved with revolutionaries (or was it terrorists).....if I remember correctly.

Re: Hero of humanity

I don't want to give away the story. But I had not read the movie synoposis but had some idea about it but it turned out to be different and better.

Re: Hero of humanity

Oh I saw clips of it, they speak in a strange dialect, similar to Punjabi.

Re: Hero of humanity

Not similiar to Punjabi. It is Punjabi. It's picturized in the areas of Wah, Rawalpindi, and Chakwal.

Re: Hero of humanity

It sounded very different to the Punjabi I'm accustomed to hearing, there must be various dialects.

Re: Hero of humanity

Yeh, lil bit. But I kinda didn't find it much different to what I'm used to. Partly because I've heard some "village" Punjabi too. City Punjabi is surely different. It's more Urdu words in it.

Re: Hero of humanity

whatever type of punjabi it is..youre not selling it..

doesnt sound as good as shrek to me.

Re: Hero of humanity

I’m not having this conversation with 10 years olds :hoonh:

Re: Hero of humanity

Roman, if you watched shrek you'd say the same as me!
and you wouldnt waste your time with watching the types of films you do..

it will make you a much happier person and being ten is great

you wouldnt remember of course!:D

Re: Hero of humanity

don't people in the wah region speak potohari/hindko?

Re: Hero of humanity

I think so. But I believe most of the movie was filmed in Chakri village. Wah/Pindi area was probably just few bazaar scenes etc.

Re: Hero of humanity

Thx for the advise R.

Just found the movie and bought it.

(ps Chakri should be Charkhi.)
