Anyone ever develop a hernia? Have you had the procedure? I think the minimally invasive procedure is called Laparoscopic, as opposed to the traditional open surgery. Please share your experience.
After delivery of my son, apparently I have developed a hernia due to weak muscles etc…and in a few weeks doc wants me to go in for the procedure…and I am scared!!!
My first son was born with a hernia on his left side and developed one on his right side. His first surgery was just after his first birthday and his second surgery was at age 2 1/2. I was a wreck both times! But HE was just fine!! He also had laparoscopic surgical repair and he has 2 really tiny little scars, you hardly see them now unless you're actually looking for them.
Anyway, he was fine and just about back to his happy little self just a few hours after the surgery both times. He was in the hospital a total of about 6 hours both times. After the 2nd surgery, he liked the bed with the high railings so much that he started jumping and bouncing on it! I almost had a heart attack!
Best of luck to you with your surgery! I hope this helps...
a hernia is a tear in the lower abdominal region that allows intestine to "poke through". You can poke it back in but the worry is that it can get stuck and thats a problem that requires emergency surgery. So best to get the laparoscopic over with before it becomes trouble.

hey! hernia lerkiyon ko nahi hota sirf boys ko hota hy.
Girls get hernias higher up - called hiatal hernias and the guys get hernias lower down called inguinal hernias. Its just that men and women or girls and boys have different areas of weakness in their abdomens.
^well actually, girls also can get inguinal hernias. However the protusion is not often visible in the groin but sometimes in the labia majora. But the same weak spot in the abdomen is the cause of this
Conversely, men very often suffer from hiatal hernias as well.
still doesnt help, if anyone had it or not :( In any case I am going to the surgeons office next week for evaluation whatever & they will give me a date for the procedure. I want to get it over and done with!!! :(
I have a wedding coming up..so hopefully I will heal up in time so that I am able to dance :)
Mama, are you serious?? Hehe kids are so much stronger than us!!!! My son was sick all last week with a fever going up n down. And some rash thingamajig...but unless he felt really horrible, he was still a jumping bean all the same.
