Re: Here we go again...
In contrast a good muslim society is based on equality, peace and harmony, not bling bling. Unfortunately we are far removed from good muslim societies. You do see such people though and they generally form the core group of muslims who pray regularly in local masjids. You`ll find them together at fajr prayer almost on a daily basis, and trying to attend as many salat's together at the masjid as possible.
Those people have what I feel is true brother / sisterhood. Its truly a pleasure being in their company and one really feels the loss when one of them has to move away.
Humanity is what we've truly lost in our ever growing search for material wealth.
Look at the lives of the Sahaba (male and female). They lived such simple lives, they had nothing to eat at times and yet the the peaceful and serene demeanor that they exhibited can never be found amongst with the richest of the rich nowadays.
I`ll take the simple life of a goat farmer anyday over the glitter splendor of a newyork socialite. I only wish their were more who thought like i did.
my thoughts are same:)
