Because I hate to say it but Muslims do it a lot more often, and you will even find a minority on here rationalizing it as well.
I am aware that it occurs in other groups, but it irks me more when a fellow Muslim does it because it is extremely counterproductive.
Sad but true. There are reportedly a million and a half Hindus in the UK yet how often do we hear about them shipping their daughters off to India for forced marriages or honour killings? All the statistics show that us Muslims do it far more, I'm not saying these things don't happen in other communities cos obviously they do but the problems are far worse amongst Muslim desis. I posted the figures for forced marriage the other day in another thread and not surprisingly Pakistanis were by far the worst culprits. Indians seem to have, for the most part, left this cultural BS behind whilst for some reason we're far far slower at condemning this behaviour and putting a stop to it :(
