Herbs and Skin

Okay, so I bought this new cleanser (second one this winter break!), and a moisturizer, and a blemish solution.

Cleanser:

Witch Hazel Extract - natural astingent and cleanser
Hops Extract - natural conditioning agent
Rosemary extract - antimicrobial, antioxidant
Swertia Japonica extract - stimulates skin
Camellia Oleifera Seed extract - smoothes skin, anti-oxidant

Oil-Free Moisturizer (some of these are obviously not herbs):

bilberry
sugar cane
sugar maple
orange
lemon
chamomile
aloe vera
witch hazel extract
algae extract
anthemis nobilis flower extract

Blemish remover:
tea tree oil

 Iโ€™m in love. My skin feels so great and after cleansing and moisturizing it has such a nice glow!!!

swoons Iโ€™m slowly becoming a herbal addict.

Re: Herbs and Skin

woman just go raid the fridge. whatever is good enuff to eat is good enuff to put on your skin.

Re: Herbs and Skin

personally goats milk and neem is my favourite.

Re: Herbs and Skin

So where do I get this gs famous tea tree oil and how do I use it.
I would very much like to try it. Is it only for blemishes or does
it have other uses as well?

Re: Herbs and Skin

You can buy it from the Bodyshop or Holland and Barrats (sp?)

I personally don't think it works, well it didn't for me anyway. Water and plenty of it usually does the job.

Re: Herbs and Skin

I use the tea tree oil toner from The Body Shop. I like it.

Re: Herbs and Skin

PCG, i love herbs and natural products.

Sajal, you can buy tea tree oil from any drug store, health food stores, or aromatherapy places..usually the best tea tree oil is from australia..it is antiseptic and anti biotic..not only that it good for acne..its good for dandruff..

when i used to work at the spa..we used tea tree oil in every single thing..be it the soak water for manicure or pedicure to sea salt baths..

oh yes, you can even mix several aromatherapy oils and can make the mixture to kill lice..one of my ex-colleague made it for her friend's daughter and it works..

tea tree oil is also used in herbal toothpastes as well.

Re: Herbs and Skin

For those whith young children, it's also the best natural way to get rid of headlice without having to use strong medicated products.

Re: Herbs and Skin

so then are there shampoos that use tea tree oil?

Re: Herbs and Skin

I've seen quite a few shampoos available that use tea tree oil as their main ingredient, it's good for dandruff and problem scalps.

You use the tea tree oil undiluted when using it to treat head lice though.

Re: Herbs and Skin

PCG you never gave the names for ur cleanser or moisturiser...or did i miss them?
