omg its like for the first time ive started using it and its only been a week and iam just completely inlove with its fragrance its like it doesnt let me leave the bathroom haha …ok the thing i wanted to ask apart its fragrance is that is it that good coz ive been usin dove which is sooo good especially its conditioner that makes my hair soo soft but iam afraid iam not getting the similar results from herbal essence or perhaps is just 2-3 times and that i should give it more time
Re: Herbal Essence...!
Wait a couple more weeks. Why did you switch?
Re: Herbal Essence...!
I love the fragrance of Herbal Essence too! :) In my working days, I went to this hoity-toity salon and paid a horriffic price for a haircut but got some great pointers from the lady who did my hair. She said that all commercial shampoos have "methylparabin" and "propylparabin" which is WAX. They all have it to one degree or another. And it makes your hair look SO shiny - until the wax builds up and the layers of it start to break down. So she told me to use this Neutrogena shampoo two to three times a year. The plain Neutrogena shampoo, when you use it over 5 to 10 days will remove all the wax buildup in your hair.
I'm thinking maybe you have wax buildup or that the H.E. shampoo contains more wax products than the dove. Really, give the neutrogena shampoo a try and then see how it works.
Re: Herbal Essence...!
shay i heard that one shold keep switchin coz every shampoo contain different protein which is good for hair
Mama what kinda shampoo it is can i get at pharmacies coz i think where i live i havnt seen at super marts or any other store
Re: Herbal Essence...!
I used to use herbal essence.
I agree the fragrance is to die for.
Re: Herbal Essence...!
^ for me yea JUST the essence otherwise that thing played havoc with my hair, lost 'em like anything!
Re: Herbal Essence...!
I have been using Herbal Essence for almost 2 and half years and it works amazing. I love the smell and the conditioner really does work through my tangles. Its great.
Also, i have been told not to change shampoos too much. Its bad for hair no? Anyway, i dont think i would want to...
Re: Herbal Essence...!
i once tried herbal essences...i agree that the smells are great...but in my opinion the shampoo is a no-no...it made my hair look as if a mini bomb went off there...so dry and "phattay hoay"....
Re: Herbal Essence…!
Mamaof3 is right- it’s this shampoo:
http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/detail?prodid=257683&previousURI=/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/search?ActiveCat=499^Query=neutrogena+shampoo
You can use Frederic Fekkai’s anti-residue products too but this one is ALOT cheaper.. and works great! It’s great to remove all the buildup, the only thing is that the hair feels a bit dry and brittle after you shampoo.. so use a good conditioner after.

Yeah you can use the Neutrogena's Anti Residue shampoo...or someone once told me that if you wash your hair with baking soda...that cleans the built up as well....
Re: Herbal Essence...!
I was told by one hairstylist to use salon quality products for the wax buildup reason alone. Now i am currently using Redken Extreme and although i loved it the first few times, i discovered i cant use it regularly, more like once a week because i get build up or whatever that weighs my hair down and makes it dull looking. I now alternate with Matrix Amplify and love both shampoos plus the Redken Extreme Conditioner is to die for.
Re: Herbal Essence…!
hey thanx for the info shay iam gonna search it on during weekend till then iam just gonna enjoy the beautiful fragrance of H.E. ![]()
Re: Herbal Essence...!
and guys does it come with a conditioner or i just have to shampoo it
Re: Herbal Essence...!
you just shampoo with it and then use a light conditioner after.
Re: Herbal Essence...!
I have heard great things about Redken, especially for colored hair. Nothing ever made my hair look like Garnier Fructis did.. sigh.. I don't know why I switched to Fekkai. Recently, I watched Tariq Amin on the Marina Khan's morning show and he suggested to keep atleast two shampoos in your bathroom so you can alternate- it's always good to give your hair some variety.
