"The wife of the Emir of Qatar, HH Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser, has been voted amongst the most stylish women in the world by US magazine Vanity Fair.
Sheikh Mozah, also the UNESCO special envoy for basic and higher education, joins HRH the Duchess of Cambridge, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco in the magazine’s International Best Dressed Women List.
It’s not the first time the glossy magazine has included the Qatari royal in its annual list, Sheikha Mozah, she was first recognised on the highly-regarded sartorial poll back in 2009.
British actresses Carey Mulligan and Oscar winner Colin Firth also made the cut on the list while Lady Gaga is named as one of “fashion originals” of 2011.
The Gulf-state’s First Lady is well known for her love of fashion. Her official wardrobe during a state visit to the UK in October 2010 promoted the British designer Julien Macdonald to declare her a style icon. “[She is] glamorous and sophisticated, the very epitome of a royal,” said the designer.
“Not since Jackie O has any first lady had such global resonance in terms of fashion,” he said.
“I would love to dress her. Her personal style is rich with power and confidence, yet retains a real femininity that many women aspire to,” he added.
Vanity Fair, which publishes its annual list in no particular order, is considered one of the most influential in the fashion world."
Re: Her Highness Sheikha Mozah named in Vanity Fair’s most stylish women in the world
I really like her.. Am sure she's had work done but regardless she looks great for her age.. Makes me think of an Arab Sophia Loren or a hijabified Bond girl from the sixties :D

She does have a very personal 'style', whether its every woman's cup of tea or not is a different thing. Unlike Queen Rania of Jordan, I like how she dresses within her cultural parameter, although I enjoy looking at Queen Rania's clothes more. But Mozah's dressing is so her.

She is very tall and elegant. Some of my Qatari friends from uni work for her and they all mirror the way she dresses. The few photos you have shown are of the extreme, she usually looks great. Urgh her husband is gross.

I've always thought she pulls off the hijab beautifully with her clothing. With the green outfit I think she tried too hard to look sporty/casual and it ended up horrendous. To an extent, I'm sure it would motivate ladies in hijab to experiment dressing in different ways. Haha at the inspiration.

I dont see why she is wearing a hijab when you can clearly see her legs. I dont get that w/ Arabs.
That's how you become a fashion icon. Just dawn a sheer hijab with your sleeveless top and mini skirt and you'll be gracing the front cover of Vogue magazine in no time.
Re: Her Highness Sheikha Mozah named in Vanity Fair’s most stylish women in the world
U DO k ow that before hijab being a religious headgear, its a cultural pce of clothing for arabs, right? Just like our shalwar kameez covers us properly but we still wear a dupatta... Not all arabs abroad wear hijab for religious purposes, especially those from egypt, syria, UAE, lebanon etc. Its just a part of their everyday clothing.... Atleast this is ow my arab friends describe it. U see desi chicks wearing scarves around their shoulders when they wear western putfuts...doesnt do a bit in covering their boobirs...but they wear it still cuz its just followed on from their cultural dress, shalwar kameez. Feel naked without it.

Just as they don't get how we can wear a see thru dupatta rather than a properly opaque scarf and call it hijab (if that's the intention).. Swings and roundabouts..
