Dear All,
My brother was having high fever from the last 2 days when he went to hospital for checkup in Pakistan doctor asked for blood test. After exmining the report he said he have hepatitis… he was not told which type it was told it is on the initial stage.
He is going again tomorrow to see the doctor what should i suggest him to ask doctor like for care ?

But just wait till ALL the details of his test are available and then go from there :)

Ask what would be the treatment and what are the after effects of the treatment and if u have a doubt on that report and u want to consult to another Dr then don’t give the details and don’t show the same report if u do that he will recommend all the same things.

Hmmm I don't understand how the doctors can not know what type of hepatitis your brother has !!!! Because the blood test for hepatitis is specific like Hep A , Hep B , Hep C , Hep E etc.
Now I am assuming that doctors must have taken his LFT (Liver Function Test). His SGPT and other values must be on the higher side thats why they are assuming that it's hepatitis. Hepatitis tests results can take upto 1 week .
I have suffered from Hep A & Hep E at the same time. Someone has said right that it does not require any treatment as it is cured on its own. But yes your brother will have to be very careful with his food & liquid intake. A dietician will give proper guidance. But for now don't give him oily food , give him only boiled/filtered clean water , he can have fruits. I can tell you that the person who suffers from hep A /E can not have proper food anyway because of lack of appetite.
When I was sick my mom used to give me fresh carrots juice and it helped me a great deal in getting rid of my hepatitis. Also sugar cane / ganderi is useful in hepatitis.
The doctors might give him some medicine to control the enzymes and itchiness.
Insha Allah your brother will be fine. It's a long recovery but most of the people recover from it.
