Henry Cavill Is 'Superman': Actor Lands Lead Role in Zack Snyder Reboot

Breaking News: Deadline is reporting that actor Henry Cavill has landed the coveted title role in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ ‘Superman’](Man of Steel (2013) - Movie | Moviefone) reboot.

“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield,” said the film’s director, Zack Snyder.

The film is also being produced by ‘Inception’ mastermind Christopher Nolan.

^That's not a very flattering pic of him..........but he does have very well-defined and chiseled features (especially when he's in shape).

Stephanie Meyer (author of the Twilight series) wanted to cast him as Edward Cullen.......but then they went with Robert Pattinson because they didn't want someone more than (I think) 21 years of age......and Cavil at the time was 24. If you check out one of his older movies, I capture the Castle, he looks like he could have played Edward......he has the look of someone who could have belonged to the time period that Edward (1800s?) grew up in.
